Claire Wardle is a globally renowned leader in researching and implementing mitigation strategies against weaponized information ecosystems. As well as positions at Brown University, Harvard and now Cornell, she has also served as head of social media for the UN Refugee Agency, as Director of News Services for Storyful, and a leading consultant on digital transformation to organizations around the globe.

Claire’s Story

Claire also co-founded and was the Executive Director of First Draft, one of the world’s leading nonprofits addressing weaponized information ecosystems. She has authored a number of articles and reports, including Information Disorder: An interdisciplinary Framework for Research and Policy for the Council of Europe and A Conceptual Analysis of the Overlaps and Differences between Hate Speech, Misinformation and Disinformation for the United Nation’s Department of Peace Operations.
