Jan Dirk Kemming leads the sustainability consulting and communication offer by Weber Shandwick in Germany and plays a vital role in connecting sustainability expertise across the EMEA region.  Jan Dirk helps to bridge different stakeholder perspectives and to align business interests with environmental and sociopolitical contexts. His areas of expertise are strategic positionings, narrative development, brand/corporate research, communication strategies and creative platforms. 

Jan’s Story

His industry experience contains food, healthcare, consumer electronics, energy, automotive, finance/banking covering sustainability and impact aspects such as decarbonization, circular business models, biodiversity and ecosystems, sustainable finance or energy transformation. He has worked for clients like Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Deutsche Telekom, Toyota, German Cooperative Banks, UNFCCC, Miele, Haleon or Nespresso. As a part-time tenure professor, he teaches brand strategy and sustainability communication at Cologne University of Applied Science. He published a well-recognized book on “brands as political actors” (Springer). Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Jan Dirk worked at BBDO (Omnicom) and Wunderman (WPP) in different strategy/creative roles.
