About the opportunity:

What will you do?

• Contribute to development of client tactical plans and cross-community implementation activities
• Successfully manage client expectations by ensuring adherence to timelines, budget and quality standards
• Develop initial client communications, key messaging and related materials
• Build client relationships, confidence and trust (at executional level)

About The Role

We’re currently seeking a conversation-starter, a reputation-guarder, an idea-launcher and a team-player to join our growing China Go Global team in Hong Kong.

Associates are resourceful task managers who are counted on for tactical program execution by servicing multiple clients and handling core public relations tasks with a dynamic team. They learn the business of the agency, its clients and its internal processes and procedures. Eager to deepen insights into media strategies and industry trends across the smartphone/smart hardware, mobile internet, and consumer technology.

 

Primary Responsibilities

• Support account leads to manage client relationships on a day-to-day basis and implement local and regional communication strategies and program activities in conjunction with team members
• Monitor and track client, competitor, industry and cultural news and prepare coverage reports
• Provide media relations support – conducting research, maintaining and building target media lists, drafting media materials, pitching to journalists, and managing media relationships and opportunities
• Translate and develop well-written bilingual article summaries, and prepare media materials
• Co-ordinate with external and internal parties to ensure the smooth execution of clients’ events
• Perform general reporting and administrative duties

 

Education And Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent ideally in the field of PR, Communications, Marketing, Business or Journalism
• 1-4 years of PR experience or relevant industry experience, preferably at a PR agency or in-house communications team
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Organized to handle various ongoing work streams
• Self-motivated team player, and keen to take ownership of tasks
• Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Keen to develop your career in the PR industry and value professionalism

Weber Shandwick Korea is seeking a highly motivated individual who is passionate about communications and excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our global and domestic healthcare and pharmaceutical clients in various communications-related projects.

As an Associate/Senior Associate you will be an integral contributor to our Healthcare team, working closely with well-known and highly reputable Communications consultants to support our globally known pharmaceutical and healthcare clients. Additionally, you will have access to a wealth of knowledge through other consultants across our global network.

What You Will Do:

• Work with clients to develop creative and innovative initiatives to support brand strategy, brand awareness, and PR;
• Develop and present relevant market research and analysis on client competitors, related industries, and current issues
• Support global healthcare companies’ entry into the Korean market by consulting clients on marketing strategies and client targets;
• Support Media Relations-related tasks, such as writing news releases, arranging interviews, and planning/managing press-related events.

What You Will Need:

• Fluent Korean (Ability to do business smoothly in Korean);
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience PR and Communications industry, ideally in an agency environment
• Knowledge of media and social media practices.

Preferred Experience:

• English Proficiency (our Healthcare team consultants currently utilise Korean on a day-to-day basis, but if you can bring English or other languages to the team, it is a huge plus for us!);
• Experience in the Healthcare Industry (Pharmaceutical / Medical / Medtech / Healthcare Communications & Marketing / Clinical Research / Pharmaceutical Sales / Cosmetics, etc.);
• Experience of research and insights
