Weber Shandwick is seeking a curious, creative, and media-savvy Account Director to join our team in Washington, D.C. This role is on our Corporate team, part of Weber Advisory—a unit delivering trusted, agile C-suite counsel by blending communications expertise with cultural insights to accelerate stakeholder and organizational value. This role will focus on executing communications, reputation and earned media strategies for corporate, advocacy and public sector clients at the intersection of business, policy, media and culture.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned media strategist who understands the complexity of today’s business world and has a passion for creating communications strategies that make a real-world impact. They bring a proven track record of delivering effective integrated media campaigns and experience thriving on high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have experience working with corporations across multiple sectors – experience in retail, technology, financial services, consumer lifestyle and healthcare sectors is particularly relevant.
This position will be based in our Washington, D.C. office on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:
- Shape and execute integrated communications strategies in partnership with agency and client teams
- Counsel and interact effectively with clients and leaders at client organizations
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with top-tier media across business, national/local broadcast, multicultural and lifestyle verticals
- Immersed in the media and cultural landscape, as well as emerging issues that may impact clients directly or indirectly
- Approach client work with curiosity — always seeking to understand the brand, its competitors, and the broader industry context
- Proactively and reactively craft compelling, newsworthy stories that drive earned coverage
- Develop strategic, earned-first plans and write high-quality media materials, including pitches, press releases, and messaging documents
- Deliver consistently high-caliber work with a client-first mindset and sharp attention to detail
- Collaborate with agency and inter-agency partners, serving as a key contributor across teams to drive alignment and deliver cohesive, large-scale campaign work
- Mentor and develop junior team members through hands-on guidance, feedback, and professional development

Basic Qualifications:
- 7-9 years of experience
- Experience leading integrated media projects from start to finish, working with teams across various disciplines
- Robust earned strategy and media relations experience
- Experience providing counsel to senior leaders
- Bachelor’s degree
Washington D.C. Salary range: $95,000 USD – $125,000 USD

Senior Associate, Corporate Advisory
Weber Shandwick is looking for a talented client and media practitioner to join our corporate advisory practice. In this role, you will be responsible for thinking across channels and disciplines to manage integrated engagements for an exciting mix of accounts, including flagship technology, health & wellness and CPG clients.
You will help bring our clients’ business objectives to life through creative earned, owned, and paid activations. You’ll engage with clients and colleagues around the world, help develop junior team members, establish trusting relationships with clients, and participate in new business development.
Responsibilities
CLIENT AND WORK
- Liaises with clients and assists in day-to-day communications and account management, including organizing client meetings, developing timelines, activity reports, and other key client documentation.
- Supports a variety of strategic initiatives on client accounts, including assisting in the development and execution of strategic executive communications and visibility plans, corporate issues management, landscape intelligence research, and corporate storytelling campaigns.
- Manages and executes key media relations deliverables, including media list creation, pitch development, press releases, reporting, and content creation.
- Supports campaign and program development by conducting relevant research and contributing creative ideas to media activations, planning meetings, and team brainstorms.
- Continually builds understanding and knowledge of clients’ business, competitive landscape, and industry trends to provide thoughtful recommendations.
- Partners with diverse, cross-functional teams to ensure strong execution of programs in support of client business objectives.
- Supports influencer identification, coordination, and management in partnership with our internal experts.
- Monitors, analyzes, and develops client coverage reports, leveraging industry measurement and listening tools to identify opportunities for growth and strategic evolution.

Qualifications
- BA or BS in Journalism, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in communications, events or media relations, roles
- Experience supporting communications programs, either in an agency or in-house setting.
- Knowledge of and interest in business and the corporate landscape. Keen interest in following policy, media, and macroeconomic trends.
- A strong writer capable of crafting compelling narratives for various audiences.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with strong project coordination skills and the ability to drive projects from start to finish.
- Demonstrates solid media relations skills, including experience with media monitoring, building media lists, and pitching. Comfortable building relationships with top-tier business and industry trade outlets.
- A critical thinker and confident communicator who is solutions-oriented and connects the dots between different workstreams.
Salary Range: $70,400 USD – $76,000 USD

We Are Seeking:
We are looking for a driven, self-motivated and culturally fluent, Vice President to join our Consumer team, working across global lifestyle and CPG brands. As Vice President, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day business and spearheading high-profile, award-worthy, earned-driven integrated campaigns for some of our top client brands. You bring a network of media relationships that you can leverage for clients. With experience working directly for a principal, you’re adept at positioning them for media opportunities and capturing their voice in compelling content. Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a client advisor, providing counsel on social, policy and communications issues.
- Develop and execute bespoke communications strategies – with earned media at the center – that meet clients’ reputational goals.

- Craft compelling narratives, messaging and content on behalf of clients and their principals, including press releases, op-eds and social media content.
