Responsibilities:

  • Develop media relations action plans, including goals and objectives, media targets, story angles and outreach approaches, in collaboration with and support from senior media relations experts
  • Provide teams with ongoing media updates 
  • Persuasively pitch media and earn high-profile coverage for clients
  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact during program execution, as appropriate
  • Develop and manage timelines and weekly action plans to ensure all deadlines on client programs are met
  • Break down and manage detailed tasks with the account team associated with planning and implementing special public relations events
  • Anticipate and proactively offer solutions to senior team leadership for executional issues specific to assigned programs
  • Manage program and project budgets

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a media relations role/environment
  • Strong media relations skills and relationships
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills; verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
  • Social media literacy with the ability to identify and recommend social program elements

Weber Shandwick is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Junior Associate who wants to be part of a dedicated and engaged team that creates smart marketing and communications solutions for clients. This position will provide ongoing support the Business Development team for North America. NYC Salary range: $45,000 – $50,000

Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.

Manager, Client Experience Digital - Healthcare

We are seeking someone who is passionate about healthcare and making a difference in the lives of patients living with various diseases and conditions. As a Manager, you will work closely with senior and junior staff members across several teams to provide counsel and manage day-to-day work, in addition to serving as a key client contact.

As a successful Manager, you will be a strong leader with excellent writing and communications skills and an ability to translate client needs into project plans. You will also help develop and implement engagement campaigns for a variety of healthcare clients, including pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and health systems. Ideally, you should have agency/consulting or related experience with a background in healthcare communications, including experience leading digital program elements.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Manage account team implementation of agreed-upon programs, ensuring quality standards are met and desired results are delivered on-budget
  2. Lead project management initiatives
  3. Lead development and revision of tools, ensuring all activities are moving forward and are within deadlines
  4. Leverage traditional media as well as influencers and digital/emerging technologies for PR programming
  5. Develop a range of external and media materials including press releases, key message documents, pitches, social media content, etc.
  6. Manage event and activation logistics in a variety of settings
  7. Set and meet campaign measurement and evaluation criteria
  8. Identify training and development needs of junior staff and provide opportunities that enable staff members to reach their full potential
  9. Assist in financial management for clients, including development of invoices and activity reports

 

 What We Are Looking For

  1. Fluency and/or familiarity with digital and social media
  2. Experience working on multi-disciplinary (holistic) communication initiatives
  3. Strong understanding of the relationship between traditional public relations and the use of current online/digital technology and social media
  4. Solid working knowledge of key online/offline media influencers/journalists
  5. Strong budgeting and financial management skills
  6. Experience with clients and accounts that are measurement and evaluation driven
  7. Strong presentation skills, poise, and professionalism
  8. Industry experience in healthcare communications and/or pharmaceuticals

 

Basic Qualifications

  1. At least 4 years’ experience in public relations at an agency or corporate in-house (healthcare experience required)
  2. BA or BS in Public Relations, Communications, or in a related field

Who Are We Looking For?

POV: You’re our new Senior Associate, Client Experience Digital 

 On any given day, you could be working on social content strategy, liaising with a client on a paid social campaign, supporting influencer programs, researching the latest trending sounds on Instagram Reels and helping to launch a podcast. In the morning you may be the one explaining the FYP to a client, in the afternoon compiling a report on Instagram content performance, and end the day learning about generative AI directly from some of our leading subject matter experts at Weber Shandwick. Each day may be a little bit different but every day you will work hard doing something you love with some really cool clients. RESPONSIBILITIES 

This is what you can regularly expect your work to look like. 

  • Assist in the development and implementation of digital campaigns  integrating into larger paid, owned and earned programs 
  • Implement digital engagement campaigns for top-tier government and corporate clients 
  • Serve as a platform strategist lead for multiple clients and internal functions
  • Oversee client’s social media channels including editorial planning, content development, paid media, social listening, social media monitoring and content performance analytics and ongoing social strategy
  • Inform the development of effective digital and social media creative and editorial assets to resonate with priority audiences and ensure social channels are being used in high-value ways
  • Serve as a key client contact in the management of digital campaigns, providing both reliable project management and strategic counsel as needed. You know how to appropriately engage with clients and can confidently communicate with clients in both written communications, virtually via Microsoft Teams or IRL.  
  • Support new business development efforts 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working closely with several types of teams including creative, strategy, media planning and PR 
  • Deep expertise in social media/digital platforms, including content formats, available ad targeting and analytics capabilities 
  • A keen passion for tracking digital and social media trends and leveraging them to solve client challenges across a range of industries 
  • Knowledge of and interest in social media listening programs and the ability to transform findings into actionable insights for clients
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages simultaneously

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience with social executive visibility programs, supporting senior leaders or subject matter experts on social media 
  • Prior experience working with social media influencers or content creators as a part of a brand’s social media strategy 
  • Prior experience with social listening or social media monitoring and an understanding of how to approach a new client challenge 

SKILLS 

This is what you need to know and be able to do with confidence in this role. 

  • Familiarity with a wide range of social media platforms including but not limited to: LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc. and the available content formats for each and an understanding of social platforms’ native analytics offerings. 
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and a wide range of community management, social listening and social media management tools such as Talkwalker, Brandwatch, Sprout Social, Sprinklr, Khoros, Hootsuite or similar tools and an appetite to learn more. 
  • Superb research skills with the ability to conduct desk research independently and quickly learn new research tools to inform client and internal briefs (read: you can effectively search something on Google and discern reputable sources and learn new tools that can help you supplement your research) 
  • Top notch written skills, able to write engaging short form digital/social content with a bonus if you have experience writing longer form digital content 
  • A strong comfort level with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint; You don’t have to be an expert, but you need to be comfortable creating deliverables in both
  • A clear communicator and persuasive presenter both virtually and IRL
  • Ability to think strategically about the development of integrated digital programs and how to use social platforms effectively
  • Demonstrated success translating client needs into workable plans/projects
  • Strong organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new systems and tools
