Weber Shandwick Bolsters Singapore Leadership Team; Names Christina Cheang Chairman and Vanessa Ho Nikolovski Sole Managing Director
SINGAPORE, 26 November, 2013 – Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading global public relations firms, today announced senior leadership appointments to further bolster the firm’s growth in Singapore. Christina Cheang has joined the firm as chairman of its Singapore operations. Additionally, Managing Director Vanessa Ho Nikolovski will now have full oversight of the Singapore office, as former co-Managing Director Margaret Cunico assumes a President (Emeritus) position.
Cheang joins Weber Shandwick after a five-year tenure as regional managing director, Singapore and Southeast Asia, at sister agency GolinHarris. There she was recognised for her outstanding contributions to the agency group in Southeast Asia. A journalist by trade, she is charged with providing senior strategic council, developing new business opportunities, and fostering talent within the Singapore team.
In addition to leading the day-to-day operations of the office, Ho Nikolovski will drive business opportunities for new and existing key clients. Since joining the firm in 2001, she has managed large multinational programs for global clients and led integrated award-winning campaigns across markets and disciplines. She will continue in her regional role to spearhead key multi-market client relationships for the firm.
Both Cheang and Ho Nikolovski will report to Baxter Jolly, vice-chairman, Asia Pacific. These appointments are effective as of December 1.
