Weber Shandwick announces two new market leadership appointments
Veterans Alison McMillon, Laura Cederberg appointed to drive in-market growth and client service under Sheila Mulligan, rounding out senior Central leadership team alongside Dave Collett, Katie Adams
Alison McMillon, a 20-year veteran of Weber Shandwick, has been named Dallas Market Leader. With experience in corporate, B2B, crisis and issues, consumer and internal communications, McMillon was most recently an Executive Vice President and Deputy General Manager in the firm’s Dallas office, where she led global, integrated programs. She has partnered with leading corporations across the Texas market throughout her career.
Laura Cederberg, a seasoned counselor with deep corporate and public affairs experience, has been named Minneapolis Market Leader. Cederberg was most recently a Senior Vice President on the firm’s corporate and public affairs team. She has roots in Minnesota politics, having previously served as a spokesperson for Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton and Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith, and began her career on the first Senate campaign of Sen. Amy Klobuchar.
Both Cederberg and McMillon will report to Weber Shandwick Central President Sheila Mulligan.
“Weber Shandwick has a long-held leadership position in the Central Region and deep experience across some of the region’s dominant industries — from agriculture to industrials,” Mulligan said. “We continue to meet the rapidly changing needs of our clients and the economic evolution of the region. Alison and Laura are the right leaders for this transformational moment, with combined experience across sectors and stakeholders, coupled with deep roots in these key markets.”
Dallas is on track to become the third-most-populous metropolitan area within the decade, and the state of Minnesota added nearly 50,000 jobs last year according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Weber Shandwick’s Central region, which houses much of the firm’s B2B, industrials and food & beverage sector expertise, encompasses Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Dallas and Minneapolis, and services major Fortune 500 clients in the region including Mars, Kellanova, General Motors, Nestle and Novartis.
The appointments round out the firm’s Central region leadership team, which also includes market leaders Dave Collett in St. Louis and Katie Adams in Detroit.
