Weber empowering women: Employee volunteers leading the charge for change

In honor of both International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, The Weber Shandwick Collective is proud to celebrate the inspiring work of our colleagues worldwide who are dedicating their time and skills to champion women through various volunteer opportunities.
We recognize that empowering women is crucial for achieving gender equality and driving socio-economic progress globally, and we are thrilled to support the incredible efforts of our peers, who are making a significant impact in their communities and beyond.
Laura Andrews, Vice President, Client Experience – Sao Paulo, Brazil
Women of Impact is a free leadership and networking program aimed to support women in the early years of their corporate leadership journeys.
Members of the program are partnered with a diverse network of mentors to learn and develop essential management skills – including how to give assertive feedback, manage conflicts effectively and form high-performance teams. Promoting female leadership is fundamental to promoting gender equality and ensuring equitable opportunities. This struggle is more than individual achievement; it is essential for the social and economic development of Brazil.
Laura Andrews, VP of Client Experience at Weber Shandwick Brazil, has served as a mentor for two consecutive years, supporting over 40 women in developing their management skills.
Nivey Nocher – Executive Vice President, Client Experience, Current Global – London, UK
Women+Health is an organization that supports women who have experienced domestic violence and rape, vulnerable new mothers and their families, carers, and women and men looking to improve their health and wellness through a range of therapies and services at the center in London.
Nivey Nocher, EVP of Client Experience for Current Global, serves on the Board of Trustees for Women+Health and recently helped to secure a feature on the organization in Metro.
Paula Resende – Manager, Client Experience, Social Impact – São Paulo, Brazil
Paula Resende is one of the coordinators of the Maio Furta-Cor Curitiba campaign, a movement to raise awareness, debate and promote public policies to promote mother’s mental health in Brazil. Details are still in development for 2025 but this year’s campaign is about the creation of support networks and issues regarding single motherhood. This year, Paula will be coordinating an entire group of volunteers, as well as managing resources for the campaign.
The overall Maio Furta-Cor campaign started in 2021. The four years since, they’ve helped drivre approval of more than 100 Maio Furta-cor laws, leading to municipal and state calendars acknowledging May as the month dedicated to raising awareness and promoting maternal mental health.
Anna Shatilova – SVP, Head of Client Marketing and Business Development – Singapore
International Justice Mission (IJM) aims to protect people in poverty from violence, including women and children affected by abuse. Volunteers aim to create initiatives that raise awareness about the cause, funds and support for IJM’s work. Between 2023 and 2024, IJM Singapore raised over $500k for the mission’s work to support the fight against modern slavery and online sexual exploitation of children.

Dani Varela – Group Creative Director – New York City
NYF’s Lady Liberty Leadership Program is an initiative of the New York Festivals designed to empower high-potential women in advertising with five to eight years of agency experience through mentorship, learnings, and meaningful connections in NYC. There can never be enough channels for creating safer spaces for women to connect and expand their knowledge, hone their leadership skills and find their own voice.
Weber Shandwick Group Creative Director and NYF partner Daniela Varela serves as lead creative and program designer. TWSC was a sponsor of the one-day immersive leadership program which took place earlier this month on March 4th and was launched in celebration of International Women’s Day.
