New York – February 15, 2018 – Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading global communications and engagement firms, today announced the appointment of former Under Armour senior creative Chris Ferguson as executive creative director based in Washington, D.C. In his role, Ferguson will be responsible for shaping and executing best-in-class creative engagement campaigns for a diverse range of client partners, with particular focus on the intersection of business, policy and society.
With more than two decades of experience in traditional and interactive marketing, Ferguson will lead a growing team of creatives in Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Dallas, and will work in close collaboration with the firm’s global creative collective.
“Chris’ deep expertise working with global brands on large-scale, integrated campaigns is an invaluable resource for both Weber Shandwick and our client partners,” said Paul Massey, president of Powell Tate, the Washington D.C. bureau of Weber Shandwick. “We’re incredibly excited to welcome him as a creative leader in Washington, and look forward to the impact we’ll deliver together across our portfolio of brand partners.”
Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Ferguson served as senior global creative director at Under Armour, where he led creative strategy across all of the brand’s categories and markets. Over the course of his career, he has led creative strategy for multiple global brands, including Nike Running and Google Wallet. His work for the Ad Council – which brought famine relief to the Horn of Africa – was shared more than117 million times in 24 hours, and garnered over $100 million in donations to the region. He has also held top creative roles at Tribal Worldwide, R/GA, TBWA\Chiat\Day and Young & Rubicam.
I look forward to joining the Weber Shandwick team working together with the firm’s diverse range of clients to activate campaigns that make a difference to businesses, people and communities around the world.
