Making an Impact: How Our Teams Give Back Around the World

Today we reflect on the profound legacy of a leader whose unwavering courage and commitment to justice and equality transformed history. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?'”

In honor of Dr. King’s birthday, we asked our global colleagues to share how they serve others and impact positive change in their communities.

Boston

The I&B Council sponsors the Boston office’s partnership with Rosie’s Place, Boston’s first shelter for poor and homeless women. They provide their guests with emergency shelter, meals and vital support services like job training, legal help, and housing assistance to empower women to find dignity and security.

The Boston office started their partnership with Rosie’s in 2024 and generally does 2-3 volunteer events a year. At least twice a year, we have a group of volunteers go to Rosie’s Place to cook and serve dinner for their guests. We have also done an in-office “kit build” with Rosie’s where we put together goodie bags for their guests in honor of Women’s Day.

India

At the close of 2025, teams across our Bangalore, Mumbai and Gurugram offices participated in a one-time donation drive, partnering with local organisations supporting vulnerable children, including a government primary school, Shelter Don Bosco, and Salaam Baalak Trust. Colleagues contributed essential food supplies, dry rations, stationery, and daily-use items as part of an end-of-year giving effort. This collective activity reflected a shared commitment across locations to engage with local communities and conclude the year with purposeful action.

Los Angeles

Participating in AIDS Walk Los Angeles has become a beloved part of our Los Angeles office culture. It’s a tradition that started four years ago and, more importantly, is a vital way to support the LGBTQIA+ community in Los Angeles. Together, the team helped raise funds for APLA Health, which provides access to care for people of all income levels, especially those living with HIV. It is an annual event that our LA office looks forward to as we get together for a good cause and enjoy drag brunch to keep the celebration going after. This year’s theme, “Community is the Cure,” perfectly captured the spirit of the day  and of our WSLA family.

Mexico City

To help offset our carbon footprint and strengthen environmental awareness among our employees, we partnered with Kueponi for a reforestation day in the Sierra de Guadalupe, an area previously affected by a forest fire. In just five hours, our team planted 450 trees.

Montréal

In Canada, 65% of families live outside a city with a children’s hospital and must travel for treatment if their child is seriously ill or injured. Colleagues from our Montréal office had the honor of volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House Canada (RMHC), whose impact is far-reaching; 1 in 4 Canadians have either stayed with RMHC or know someone who has. This cause holds a special place in our hearts, and we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the incredible work that RMHC does to support families with sick children across Canada.

Singapore

For the last eight years, our year-end holiday tradition has been about more than tinsel and lights — it’s been about gratitude. Each season, our Weber Shandwick team comes together to purchase brand-new, beautifully wrapped Christmas gifts for migrant workers who play a vital role in shaping our vibrant community. In close collaboration with Its’ Raining Raincoats, gifts are dropped off at designated collection points, then carefully sorted and delivered to workers at their dormitories and worksites, in an effort to spread festive cheer, appreciation, and a heartfelt “thank you” for all they do.

UK

Last year, our UK team launched their new volunteering platform, timed to and in celebration of International Volunteering Day. Neighbourly is our team’s own bespoke, interactive service that allows employees to connect with causes that matter to them and easily arrange ways to give their time.

Our team spent time volunteering at Home Start Camden and Islington, a grass-roots charity that supports and empowers parents with children under five who are struggling to cope. Stepping into their space, we could see the length of effort and care that goes into supporting families in the local area. Our team volunteered at their foodbank and were amazed to see the crates upon crates that they received from distributors. From courgettes to kidney beans, bread to lemons, they really were able to provide something for everyone. With free baby clothes and enough books to fill a bookcase, they had everything parents need to help keep little ones well all year round. From the smiles and warm welcomes, we could tell this was a charity at the heart of a community. We truly admire the work they continue to do!

Our UK team also volunteers with Refuweegee in Glasgow’s city center, a provider of essential items and advice to asylum seekers and refugees across Scotland. Our team helped children of all ages find the perfect toys and books, organized stock across three floors, and worked alongside the lovely staff, volunteers and grateful families who look to Refuweegee for that helping hand as they make their transition to a new city.
