Gary Sheffer Joins Weber Shandwick as Senior Corporate Strategist to Focus on Corporate Reputation, Culture and Executive Engagement

Based in New York, Sheffer will work closely with Weber Shandwick’s leadership team providing counsel to the firm’s clients on corporate, executive reputation and engagement, cultural, and governance issues. He served as GE’s vice president for communications and public affairs for 13 years prior to his retirement in 2015. Sheffer was responsible for GE’s global external and internal communications including media relations,employee engagement and public affairs.

Sheffer spent 16 years at GE and previously was a press aide to two New York state governors. He started his career as a newspaper reporter and editor. Sheffer is a trustee of the Arthur W. Page Society , the premiere organization for senior communications professionals, and is past chairman of the society. He also serves on the boards of the Institute for Public Relations , the Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication , and the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. Sheffer has been inducted into the PRWeek and PR News halls of fame.
