Financial Analyst – Global Finance

The Financial Analyst will work on the day-to-day reporting needs of Weber Shandwick’s Global Finance Team. He or she will be responsible for monitoring and reporting internally on the global financial performance of the agency. In tracking the financial performance, the Financial Analyst will work closely with the accounting & finance departments and internal Weber Shandwick constituents to update financial and operational reports for senior management. The overall goal of the Financial Analyst is helping to ensure that that the Global CFO and the senior management are receiving timely and accurate information in order to make operational business decisions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Finance SVP to ensure all reporting needs are met.
  • Prepare all financial submissions to Weber Shandwick’s holding company.
  • Maintain and update all Hyperion schedules on a monthly basis, and where possible, identify and develop new reports that are beneficial to management.
  • Provide senior management with monthly financial reports describing results to date, forward projections compared to budget and commentary around noticeable trends.
  • Assist in the coordination of budgets globally.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and identify and communicate areas of concern.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly reporting pack which will be distributed to senior management
  • Special projects as required

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with 2+ years of experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a must
  • Knowledge of Hyperion Smartview a plus
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Well organized with strong time management skills and attention to detail, ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and a proactive disposition
  • Strong financial analysis; good business acumen 

 

NYC Salary range: $75,000 – $85,000

Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.

Senior Finance Manager

Senior Finance Manager will provide valuable guidance and support to the Finance and Client Service teams. Account Finance

  • Manage Accounts Receivables
  • Provide counsel and accountability related to change order management
  • Help support client, internal audits and ad-hoc requests as needed
  • Train and ensure project management and account staff are adhering to financial

Financial Close, Budgeting and Forecasting Support

  • Work with local office leadership and SVP with monthly/quarterly reporting
  • Provide ad hoc financial data necessary for leaders to make informed decisions
  • Assist with Monthly P&L Analysis
  • Process office level revenue and expense entries for shared services
  • Lead quarterly forecasting discussions on assigned accounts
  • Provide financial insights for recurring business reviews with key stakeholders
  • Provide financial onboarding to staff to help educate on financial literacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience (Agency/Services industry preferred)
  • BA/BS degree, preferable in accounting or Finance
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert in excel
  • SAP experience highly preferred

About the Opportunity:

Report to the Senior Business Controller and assume responsibility for providing accurate financial information to management, act as a gatekeeper between the agency and the SSC (Shared Service Centre) and help to ensure that all transactions and processes are consistent with IPG policy. This role also works closely with the Financial Controller, the Finance Director and the SSC.

 

Responsibilities:

 

General Accounting

  • Support Senior Business Controller with month end reporting and budgeting

 

WIP & AR Management

  • Assist Senior Business Controller with WIP review / job detail report across all brands
  • Identify and review cost transfers and write offs, reconcile client pre-billing and review non-billable client related expenses
  • Provide billing instructions to SSC
  • Job creation management & closing, create IC agreements (when receiving entity) & inform SSC, create and maintain billing plan and filing
  • Assist SSC in collections
  • Assist Senior Business Controller & agency with monitoring AR & coordinate with legal council

 

Payables & Disbursements

  • Support invoice dispute resolution
  • Assist with request advances
  • Submit urgent payment requests to SSC

 

General & Intercompany

  • Submit request for new accounts or updates to IPG Minneapolis
  • Submit request for new company code or sales organization to IPG Minneapolis
  • Assist Senior Business Controller in reviewing of journal entries
  • Assist Senior Business Controller in managing expense accruals
  • Create Intercompany agreements & resolve any intercompany disputes

 

Other

  • Weekly time report
  • Over-services report per request
  • Salesforce report per request
  • Other financial reporting / analysis as required

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Part or fully Qualified accountant preferred. Qualified by experience will be considered.
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese is a must.
  • Experience in a commercial accounting capacity preferred.
  • Excel knowledge required, SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Marketing Services industry experienced preferred but not required.
