The Overview:

Weber Shandwick seeks an Account Director to drive strategy, develop culturally relevant campaigns, mentor talent and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. As this role will be integral with engaging authentically with the Hispanic community, qualified candidates will also be bilingual.

The Role:

  • Serve as the lead on local Hispanic consumer engagement efforts for McDonald’s in the SoCal region, developing and overseeing culturally relevant Hispanic PR strategies and community-facing activations, from concept to execution while bringing a value-added approach to issues and projects
  • Serve as a leader within the West Coast brand practice, leading consumer-facing brand building efforts, building strategy, overseeing and executing programing with the support of your teams.
  • Mentor and manage high-performing teams; develop mid-and junior-level talent, fostering respect and collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and agency partners to deliver integrated work
  • Deliver strategic, engaging, and persuasive presentations to articulate ideas to clients, colleagues, and others effectively
  • Be obsessed with culture by staying on top of media and social trends, including those impacting Hispanic/multicultural communities and brands
  • The ideal candidate thrives in relationship-building and stakeholder engagement.
  • Balance multiple projects/issues seamlessly, encourage effective delegation, and assess program effectiveness ensuring ROI and efficient use of client budget
  • Able and comfortable driving to events and meetings throughout Southern California

 

Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a solid track record of developing and implementing strategies that apply the full scope of the communications mix, including media relations, influencer outreach, community partnerships, and events. Experience working with the Hispanic consumer segment as part of an integrated marketing team, representing the PR POV while helping to lead cross-agency work streams for local/national campaigns is a priority.

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience; agency experience in the consumer PR category is a requirement
  • Proven experience running day-to-day client service and project management of large, multi-channel brands with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong experience across earned/traditional and social media; paid is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Spanish speaker required
  • Experience engaging with, managing relationships, and presenting to mid- to senior-level clients
  • Outstanding judgment when working with diverse media outlets, team members, client contacts, and vendors
  • An exceptional project manager who is very organized with unfailing attention to detail
  • Experience managing budgets

Salary Range: $100,000 USD – $130,000 USD

Primary Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients and team to support day-to-day communications and account management, including organizing and developing agendas and recaps for client and internal meetings, developing and managing timelines and monthly activity reports
  • Continually build understanding and knowledge of clients’ business, competitive landscape, and industry trends to provide thoughtful recommendations
  • Monitor, analyze, and develop client coverage reports, leveraging industry measurement and listening tools; flag relevant and notable client, industry and competitor coverage, maintain coverage trackers to team and clients
