About the Role
This is a leadership role for a bold, entrepreneurial business development professional who thrives on driving growth, deepening client relationships, and unlocking new opportunities. While a strong foundation in market research is required, the primary focus of this position is on building a robust sales pipeline, generating substantial new business revenue, and expanding KRC Research’s reach.

What You’ll Be Doing
Driving Business Development (Primary Focus)
- Own revenue generation: You’ll lead efforts to secure new business, from identifying leads to delivering winning pitches that generate significant revenue.
- Lead KRC’s growth strategy: Develop and execute a sales strategy to expand into new industries, markets, and service offerings.
- Grow existing accounts: Work with current clients to identify new needs and proactively introduce innovative solutions to deepen partnerships and increase revenue.
- Mentor and inspire: Help coach and develop team members to build their business development skills, fostering a culture of entrepreneurial thinking across the organization.
- Collaborate across IPG: Leverage relationships and resources within the global IPG network to expand KRC’s footprint and offer integrated client solutions.
Building Strategic Partnerships
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior clients, partnering with them to solve complex business challenges through intelligent, data-driven insights.
- Proactively identify industry trends and opportunities to position KRC Research as a leader in addressing emerging client needs.
- Build enduring relationships with C-suite executives, offering value beyond research to inform strategic decision-making.
Providing Research Expertise
- Partner with internal teams to design customized, innovative research solutions that deliver actionable and measurable insights for clients.
- Ensure all research engagements meet the highest standards of excellence, from methodology to final deliverables.
- Serve as a bridge between client goals and internal teams, ensuring results align with strategic objectives.
Championing Team Growth and Collaboration
- Lead and inspire a talented team of researchers and strategists, fostering an environment where innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity thrive.
- Work closely with leadership across IPG’s agencies to develop cross-functional solutions that exceed client expectations.
- Contribute to thought leadership, marketing, and new service development initiatives to elevate KRC’s profile in the market research field.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, market research, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in market research or a related field, with significant focus on business development and sales.
- Demonstrated success in growing revenue streams, securing high-value partnerships, and expanding into new markets.
- Strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods and their application to real-world business solutions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling pitches and proposals.
- Advanced problem-solving skills to address client challenges and identify actionable opportunities.

Weber Shandwick is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our team in Washington, DC. You will be joining a team of business strategists, data analysts, data scientists and data engineers to build innovative data solutions.
The Data Scientist will design, build, test, and implement data solutions that support clients’ Enterprise Analytics teams as well as Weber Shandwick’s internal strategy, creative and media planning teams. The role will work closely with strategists and data engineers to ensure the advanced analytics deliverables and modeling solutions meet business demands.

Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, or social sciences with emphasis on statistics and research methods (or related disciplines) preferred.

- 3+ years of experience in a Data Science role
- Proficiency coding in Python, R or equivalent

We Are Seeking:
We are seeking a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mind to help compile and analyze data, and extract deep insights using the approaches, systems and tools we are designing in-house and have licensed from third parties. You will be able to leverage data to uncover insights and tell compelling stories.
The Analyst will join the Chicago Global Analytics team to focus on delivering insightful and impactful analytics core to the marketing and communications objectives of our clients.
The position will directly report to and work with the Chicago office but may support teams across all North American practice areas. This position will be dedicated to several of Weber Shandwick’s largest and most important client relationships.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Contribute to day-to-day project delivery, coordinating with the rest of your Weber Shandwick teammates to establish partnerships and prove value, infusing all aspects of the work with data-driven insights and measurement
- Work with Analytics teammates to create visually compelling reporting and insights that allow clients to easily evaluate communications, media and/or site performance relative to business objectives.
- Team up with data scientists and senior analytics leads to design and develop analyses, identifying and articulating insights and building narratives that move internal and external audiences to act on our recommendations.
- Interrogate multiple sources of information/data to look for trends within social and earned media, using tools such as Talkwalker, Quid, and Trendkite.
- Utilize tools and platforms designed to automate and accelerate data collection, integration and analysis. Examples: Google Analytics, Domo, Google Data Studio, Tableau, etc.
- Manage reporting tasks and data flows for media, site and social listening insights and reporting.
- Educate non-technical account team members on key requests and analysis process.
- Establish and build relationships with clients and internal account management teams
- Participate in business development activities, including strategic analysis, slide preparation and work planning
Basic Qualifications
- Strong interest and capacity to translate data and research into strategic insights and recommendations
- Passion for working with data and deriving insights to answer client business questions.
- Experience with social listening tools such as Quid, Brandwatch, and Trendkite is a plus.
- Experience with data visualization tools including but not limited to: Tableau, Google Data Studio, Domo, Excel, etc.
- Able to leverage scripting to automate analyses, data cleansing or data integration tasks.
- Experience with relational databases and statistical analysis/programming languages such as SAS, SQL, R or Python is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree with major in business or STEM preferred.
- 1-2 years relevant full-time experience; preferably in Marketing Science, Marketing Analytics, Data Science or Performance Marketing fields.
- Ability to work independently and in an integrated team setting.
- Strong communication (written and presentation) skills.
- Commitment to learning and the drive to take initiative.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfort with working in and contributing to a fast-paced, team environment.
- Desire and capacity to take full ownership of work tracks and mentor more junior staff.
Chicago Salary range: $59,000 – $70,000

About KRC Research

Qualifications
