The Opportunity

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our Business Development team as a Senior Associate. In this supporting role, you’ll assist in shaping and executing our marketing strategy and contributing to business growth. Your responsibilities will include aiding in building our brand presence, crafting campaigns, and coordinating with various teams. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of marketing plans to boost agency visibility and new business efforts.
  • Help maintain and update brand materials—think case studies, capabilities decks, and social content.
  • Collaborate with practice and account leads on award submissions and showcase standout work.
  • Assist in tracking trends and competitors to keep the agency ahead of the curve.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to bring our story and capabilities to life in new business opportunities, from strategy to execution.
  • Assist in the response of new business RFPs.
  • Help develop and manage vendor and other partner relationships.
  • Assist in research and reporting to track the success of our efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in marketing, PR, or digital (agency experience = bonus points).
  • Excellent communication skills with a knack for storytelling.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a knack for juggling multiple projects.
  • Curious, creative, and on the pulse of what’s new in culture and in the industry.
  • Collaborative and comfortable navigating a global, fast-paced environment.

  • Lead the analytics business in Canada, working closely with North American and Global Analytics & Intelligence teams
  • Support and advance established Weber Shandwick analytic products and methodologies for Canadian clients
  • Champion the use of data to inform decision-making at all levels internally and externally.
  • Provide hands-on consultancy, collaboration and support to clients and project teams in designing, budgeting, staffing, and delivering analytics work.
  • Derive insights from data to create a compelling narrative that moves internal and external audiences to act on our recommendations.
  • Proficiency with earned, owned, and paid aspects of digital content management, including social media, site analytics and search.
  • Experience using media/marketing intelligence, social listening, or other research tools such as: YouGov, Talkwaker, Cision, Quid, Vividata, Meltwater and others.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfort with working in and contributing to a fast-paced, team environment. 
  • Reports to regional Innovation + Intelligence Lead, plays an active role in team development, and manages, supervises and mentors talented and eager junior staff.
  • 8-10 years’ experience (preferably in consumer marketing, PR and/or advertising)

Vos compétences clés :

  • Environ deux à trois ans d’expérience, idéalement au sein d’une agence, en communication ou en marketing
  • Connaissance du monde numérique jumelée à une bonne compréhension de l’ensemble des médias et du paysage des médias sociaux
  • Capacité avérée à obtenir une couverture médiatique et à générer des conversations pour le compte de marques, d’organisations, d’entreprises ou d’autres institutions
  • Bonne connaissance des bases de données des médias et des influenceurs et influenceuses, ainsi que des outils et des ressources des journalistes

  • Familiarity with media and/or influencer databases, journalist-led tools and resources
  • A working style that is self-motivated, well-organized and resilient to ever-changing timelines, requests and deliverables
  • Strong written, verbal communication, presentation, collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • A degree in communications or a related discipline
  • Has experience working on National as well as Quebec-specific programming
  • Ideal candidate must be bilingual to support on National clients who execute in both French and English markets
