About this role: We are looking for a collaborative and proactive Senior Associate Project Manager who has an eye for detail. The Project Manager will work with a large team of cross-discipline individuals to assist in the planning and delivery of projects on time, on budget, on strategy, and at the highest level of quality.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Account Management and Project Management staff in managing accounts/projects through the solution delivery process from project pursuit and definition to project delivery and evaluation
  • Work with the team to develop all project documentation, including but not limited to timeline, staff plan, scope of work, status sheet
  • Collaborate with Account Management team to manage client expectations and communications flow
  • Manage development schedules, resource projection and consumption, team expectations, and budgets for assigned jobs
  • Risk mitigation related to scope and quality including communicating clear description of problems and potential solutions to senior staff in anticipation of problems or when they arise
  • Prepare agendas, minutes, and facilitate internal/external project meetings
  • Manage internal review, approval, presentation preparation and presentation/delivery to client w/ team
  • Ensure accurate and efficient handoff of deliverables to client or third parties
  • Ensure that project time tracking and budget reconciliations are accurate and updated

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years project management /or online marketing environment with experience managing projects in at least one of the following or related categories: Creative concepting, OLV or other production, social media, online advertising or email marketing. Experience with production is a plus!
  • Understanding of the influence and interactions between business requirements, agency/client/third party dynamics and interactive deliverables
  • Strong sense of ownership of process and results
  • Strong interpersonal, writing and verbal skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with an ability to influence others in these areas
  • Ability to find creative solutions to complex problems and multi-task
  • Ability to motivate teams
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet is important

The Integrated Media practice at Weber Shandwick Chicago has an exciting opportunity for an Associate, Integrated Media / Media Relations to join our team. This opportunity is perfect for a strategic, creative and organized individual, who is a fast-learner and keen observer of cultural trends. Ideal candidates should be passionate about media – both traditional and emerging – and exhibit a curiosity for new ways to engage.

As a crucial supporting role on client work, this individual will work closely with multiple cross-channel marketing and PR teams within the Chicago office and across the nation to assist in the development, execution and measurement of local and national campaigns on behalf of our clients. This individual has the confidence to actively participate in client and team projects, but also the motivation to own solo projects with an intuition of when to reach out for collaboration.

Job description:

  • Support the strategic development of public relations and media relations plans and campaigns
  • Develop written media and communications materials – from media pitches to digital content
  • Assist in the development of media lists
  • Pitch media and manage coverage opportunities, as appropriate
  • Research media topics, cultural trends, digital influencers and reporters in support of new assignments and projects
  • Liaise with clients and assist in client communications, including developing and coordinating routine account management materials, including timelines, activity reports, client documentation and project management support
  • Assist in the development of social media content strategies and management of social platforms on behalf of select clients
  • Monitor, analyze and manage client coverage reports, leveraging industry measurement and listening tools to identify opportunities for growth and strategic evolution
  • Research industry trends and develop fact sheets, briefing materials and research summaries
  • Staff client events (when deemed safe) and manage on-site media and influencers at local and national events
  • Work with colleagues across the network to be constantly in search of ways to improve work with identify subject matter experts, media insights and other best practices
  • Assist in developing executional plans and proactively offer solutions on assigned programs

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Up to 1-3 years of experience in communications, marketing or PR preferred; analogous non-traditional experience welcome
  • Experience/interest in developing media and influencer relations skills and relationships at the national, regional and trade/vertical level
  • Consumer product, healthcare and financial service industry background a plus, but not required
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills; verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
  • Open to giving and receiving constructive and respectful feedback in a timely manner
  • Ability to be a self-motivated on solo projects and proactively collaborative in team-based work
  • Desire to continuously learn new skills and knowledge, and willingness to always share skills and knowledge with team members as well as clients
  • Understanding of social community management best practices and platforms
  • Commitment to personal accountability
  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience in communications, journalism, international relations, or a similar field required
