Account Director, Client Experience, Corporate

Who We Are

Weber Shandwick is more than a leading global PR agency – we’re an engagement agency and we’re working in and around the cutting edge of the new media landscape. We’re storytellers, content creators, and we engage people IN the story. Our success is built on a deep commitment to client service and to our people. We embrace creativity and collaboration, and we engage stakeholders in new and creative ways to build brands and reputations.

Account Director, Weber Advisory

Weber Shandwick, West

At Weber Shandwick, we are operating at the intersection of business, media, policy, technology and culture — helping organizations navigate an increasingly complex stakeholder environment where reputation is shaped everywhere, all at once.

As part of Weber Advisory, our work goes beyond traditional communications. We help clients anticipate risk, shape narratives, engage stakeholders and build the trust that drives enterprise value. We combine strategic communications, cultural intelligence, issues expertise, digital influence and AI-enabled insights to help leaders and organizations move with confidence in moments that matter most.

Weber Shandwick is seeking a curious, strategic and collaborative Account Director to join our West region. This role sits within Weber Advisory’s Corporate practice and will focus on helping corporate, advocacy and public sector clients navigate the evolving intersection of business, policy, society and culture.

The ideal candidate understands that communications today is no longer just about visibility — it is about shaping influence, relevance and stakeholder trust. They bring direct experience developing executive positioning platforms and visibility strategies for senior business leaders, helping executives define differentiated points of view, build authority in the market and engage audiences across earned, owned and emerging channels.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of today’s fragmented media ecosystem — from top-tier business press and broadcast to newsletters, podcasts, LinkedIn, creators and emerging digital platforms — and know how to translate business priorities, cultural insights and executive narratives into meaningful reputation outcomes. Experience counseling executives on thought leadership, platform development, narrative strategy and high-profile visibility moments is strongly preferred.

This position will be based in either our Los Angeles, San Francisco or Seattle offices.

About You

You are deeply curious about the forces shaping business and society, from politics and regulation to internet culture, AI and shifting stakeholder expectations. You know how to help organizations show up credibly in complex environments. You can move from advising executives on sensitive issues to developing proactive storytelling platforms that build long-term relevance and trust. You thrive in fast-paced environments and bring both strategic rigor and creativity to your work.

You are a collaborative leader who can manage integrated campaigns, counsel senior clients and mentor teams while maintaining calm under pressure. You combine strong business judgment with cultural fluency and understand that the best communications strategies today are grounded equally in stakeholder intelligence and sharp storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and execute integrated reputation, executive visibility and stakeholder engagement strategies in partnership with agency and client teams
  • Counsel senior clients and executives on communications strategy, emerging issues, reputational risk and cultural dynamics
  • Develop earned-first campaigns that connect business priorities to broader cultural, societal and stakeholder conversations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier business, national, local, trade, multicultural and lifestyle media, as well as emerging influence platforms including creators, newsletters and podcasts
  • Monitor and synthesize developments across media, policy, technology, culture and business to identify risks and opportunities for clients
  • Leverage proprietary AI platforms to continuously analyze and assess the evolving client landscape to anticipate future needs
  • Translate insights into proactive communications strategies that strengthen reputation and organizational relevance
  • Craft compelling narratives, messaging platforms, executive positioning strategies and high-impact media materials
  • Partner across Weber Advisory capabilities including corporate reputation, public affairs, digital, crisis and analytics to deliver integrated solutions
  • Lead integrated workstreams with strong project management, attention to detail and operational excellence
  • Mentor and develop junior team members through coaching, feedback and day-to-day leadership
  • Support business development efforts, including strategic thinking, proposal development and client pitches
