We are seeking a strong Vice President to join our Healthcare Practice in Minneapolis. The Vice President will have proven leadership and client service skills, and experience managing integrated communications programs. The candidate will be the day-to-day contact for clients, manage communications across a cross-functional agency team as well as client team, and support flawless execution in the most efficient and productive way. They will display personal ownership and accountability for client engagement, with the ability to cultivate and nurture long-term partnerships and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage workstreams with a focus on supporting branded and unbranded corporate reputation communications and disease awareness campaigns with grassroots, community-level activations.
  • Oversee communications programs in support of regulated products like medical devices and pharmaceuticals, including sharing of clinical data and regulatory milestones.
  • Under senior guidance, support development of strategic plans and recommendations tailored to clients’ unique organizational profiles.
  • Draft key messaging and execute on materials proposed in plans, including but not limited to branded and unbranded disease awareness campaigns.
  • Maintain daily client contact, serving as a trusted resource and advisor.
  • Facilitate cross-functional team integration (strategy, creative, integrated media specialists, etc.) to deliver on client plans.
  • Act as an effective, two-way translator between clients and teams, actively counseling development of work in the best interest of all parties.
  • Proactively support and suggest improvements and new ideas to exceed client expectations by leveraging industry knowledge and experience.
  • Have ownership of client financials and profitability.
  • Coordinate integration with other agency partners.
  • Successfully navigate conflicts across internal stakeholders, clients and agency partners.
  • Manage ongoing team resourcing/staffing to ensure successful delivery of work product.
  • Actively participate in agency development and assist with new business

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field
  • At least 6-9 years’ PR/communications experience
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Experience managing high-performing teams; mentoring team members
  • Confident presenter and persuasive speaker

We Are Seeking:

We’re looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Senior Vice President to join our Consumer Practice, working across consumer health and CPG brands. You will spearhead high profile, award-worthy, social and influencer-driven integrated activations and productions for one of our top consumer health clients.

 

Working in a dynamic agency-client model, you will work with high profile talent, influencers and oversee global experiences for brands. You will be responsible for managing client and inter-agency relationships, playing a critical role in determining the future and long-term success of not only this business, but also our Consumer Practice.  The right person for this role has:

  • 12+ years of experience in PR inclusive of agency experience working on integrated communications campaigns, specifically social and influencer-led assignments
  • Deep knowledge of the consumer products space, with experience in – and passion for – consumer health, beauty, personal care and lifestyle brands
  • Proven track record of proactively identifying and delivering strategic opportunities that unlock account growth beyond the current or ‘expected’ remit
  • Strong familiarity and expertise related to social, digital and influencer channels that can further fuel earned-driven communications
  • Exceptional client service track record with ability to counsel and interact effectively with senior management at client organizations
  • Experience managing a large CPG account (over $1 million in billings) and the keen organizational skills needed to juggle multiple client needs at once
  • Ability to efficiently manage cross-office teams that span multiple cities and countries with integrated account teams preferred
  • Ability to be both strategic and hands-on, to flex with clients’ needs
  • Success leading teams and developing talent

The Weber Shandwick New York office is currently seeking a Senior Vice President to support several clients in our growing Financial Services portfolio within our Enterprise practice. The ideal candidate will have deep subject matter expertise in working in consumer finance sub-sectors such as payments, fintech, crypto, retail banking, personal finance, retirement and investing.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Work successfully with partner agencies as part of a client integrated agency team, both internally at WS and externally
  • Work effectively with finance colleagues to deliver accurate estimates for client projects or new business work, lead monthly budget tracking, and compile and edit SOW’s that adhere to a full picture view of a project’s scope
  • Write well-structured, persuasive content and help train other team colleagues to do the same
  • Contribute innovative ideas for the client and new business work, inspiring ideation amongst team members

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years public relations experience, financial services client experience required
  • Agency experience (preferred)
  • Experience working in payments, credit cards, fintech and/or consumer finance with deep understanding of the competitive landscape, product differentiation and the relevant media landscape
  • You are both a creative and a strategic thinker, and a natural team leader who operates quickly
  • Adept at solving problems and resolving conflicts with a track record in client service to senior level clients
  • Strategic media relations knowledge and strong relationships with relevant reporter beats across business, financial and consumer press
  • BA or BS in Communications or related degree
