What You’ll Do:
- Lead day-to-day execution of integrated campaigns across top lifestyle brands
- Craft earned-first strategies that generate buzz and business results
- Build and nurture client relationships—earning trust with smart counsel and standout service
- Drive media relations efforts, identifying story opportunities and securing top placements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on digital, social, and paid integrations
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and team resources across multiple projects
- Contribute to creative brainstorms, strategic planning, and campaign development
- Stay tapped into culture to help brands connect with diverse and engaged audiences
What We’re Looking For:
- 4-6 years of experience in communications, preferably in an agency setting
- Strong background in consumer, lifestyle, travel, fashion, sports or CPG communications
- Proven track record of leading earned media campaigns—product launches, thought leadership, creative storytelling, and more
- Excellent communication skills—clear writing, confident presenting, and strategic thinking
- A collaborative mindset with strong project and people management skills
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for media, culture, and crafting stories that resonate
- Experience writing including key messages, press releases, blog posts, and pitches

Salary range: $81,000 – $98,000

What you’ll do all day:
- Create: Craft written communications including media materials, compelling social content, memos, and risk assessments
- Research: Examine brands, industry trends, and various issues using various resources
- Analyze: Answer questions, provide insights, and propose recommendations using quantitative and qualitative data
- Engage: Share big ideas in brainstorms and with teams
- Hustle: Pitch stories to media, develop media lists, track placements, etc.
- Monitor: Track brands and issues in traditional and social media and analyze conversations; draft reports summarizing conversation to inform client strategies
What we’re looking for from you:
- Thinking: Do it out of the box. Look for holistic and innovative ways to meet needs and challenges. Foster a curious mind and ask thoughtful questions
- Communication: Speak, write, and edit succinctly
- Digital: Know digital platforms (tech, email, CRM, social, etc.), what brands are doing with them and best practices
- Management: Meet deadlines, put out fires, and multi-task. Work fast and work well
- Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering clear and precise work are critical
- Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with platforms like Cision, Muckrack, Meltwater, Talkwalker, Brandwatch, and/or Quid are a plus
- Dynamic: You must be able to work in a fast-paced agency environment and juggle multiple time-sensitive tasks

Weber Shandwick is seeking a curious, creative, and media-savvy Senior Manager to join our Public Affairs team in Washington, D.C., as part of Weber Advisory—a unit delivering trusted, agile C-suite counsel by blending communications expertise with cultural insights to accelerate stakeholder and business value. This role will focus on executing communications and public affairs strategies for corporate, public sector, and non-profit clients at the intersection of business, politics, policy, and media.
The ideal candidate is a public affairs professional with a passion for policy, advocacy, and communications. They bring a strong understanding of how Washington, D.C. operates, a proven track record of delivering effective public affairs campaigns, and experience thriving on high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment. This position will be based in our D.C. office on a hybrid schedule.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support day-to-day execution of public affairs and communications strategy.
- Develop and execute bespoke public affairs plans to meet clients’ policy, legislative, regulatory or reputational needs in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Craft messaging, content, and advocacy materials that align with client objectives.
- Research, analyze, and provide timely recommendations on a variety of legislative, regulatory, and political developments – and media trends – that impact clients.
- Own key pieces of client projects requiring research, writing, analysis, and creative thinking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, serving as an integral part of ensuring we deliver our best work and exceed client expectations.
- Integrate media strategy, paid and social media tactics, and stakeholder engagement to influence policy and legislative outcomes.
- Support new business proposal development to expand the agency’s client base.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
What We’re Looking For
- 5-8 years of professional experience in public affairs or communications agencies, Capitol Hill, Executive Branch agencies, political campaigns, media, advocacy, or similar organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communications, research, and critical thinking skills.
- Proven track record of working on complex client accounts (or related issues) and delivering successful advocacy and media campaigns.
- Fluency in social media and a strong understanding of the new media landscape.
- A curiosity for and/or experience in AI tools for research, writing, and brainstorming ideas.
- A voracious consumer of news, closely following national politics, public policy, and political culture.
- Understanding of federal policymaking, political dynamics, and regulatory processes, as well as what breaks through the media landscape.
- Ability to support and mobilize fast-paced, highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.
- A fast learner who can quickly get up to speed on any public affairs topic.
- Resilient mindset, deep curiosity, and a healthy sense of humor.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
Additional Qualifications
- A network of contacts and relationships across media, Hill staff, think tanks, and/or other DC stakeholders.
- Experience working with new media – influencers, bloggers, Substack writers.
- Experience working with clients and policy issues across multiple sectors and industries.

Account Director, Client Experience
Weber Shandwick Chicago has an exciting opportunity for an Account Director to join our Corporate/Enterprise team.
We are looking for an engaging, curious and collaborative person with outstanding client service and interaction skills, as well as proven analysis, writing, strategic planning, media relations and digital/social media acumen to help drive the growth and success of a variety of accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Developing public relations action plans; program goals; and earned /social media campaigns, targets and pitch angles that require input from senior team leadership
- Play day to day account lead for retail, B2B, financial sector and professional services accounts
- Managing teams and collaborating/responding to clients
- Researching and writing briefing materials for client executives
- Writing and editing press materials, key message documents, briefing materials, blog posts and pitch letters
- Staying abreast of current industry news and trends, and sharing that information with account team members
- Developing and managing timelines and weekly action plans to ensure all deadlines on client programs are met
- Breaking down and managing detailed tasks with the account team associated with planning and implementing special public relations events such as press conferences and media trips
- Anticipating and proactively offering solutions to senior team leadership for executional issues specific to assigned programs
- Interacting with senior management and providing input into tactics and strategies
- Cultivate and enhance collaborative working relationships with media through regular communications
- Persuasively pitching media and securing high-profile coverage for clients
- Understanding client objectives and priorities to help shape story angles
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years of communications experience, preferably in an agency environment
- Understanding of and experience working with professional and financial services companies, financial markets and products is a plus
- Excellent communication/presentation skills; verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills
- Social media literacy with the ability to identify and recommend social program elements
- Ability to multi-task effectively and work within tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and client expectations
- Confident and comfortable presenting in front of groups
- Media relations experience for financial and professional services accounts is a plus
