Senior Manager, Client Experience

Job Summary  

Weber Shandwick is looking for a Senior Manager, Client Experience, to join our Tech and Corporate practices on the West Coast. The ideal candidate has experience with and a passion for B2B comms, including B2B technology, with strong project and campaign management skills including experience managing workstreams and clients spanning offices and time zones. In addition, the candidate will bring earned media expertise to lead and support workstreams that lean heavily on proactive, creative storytelling. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact, provide tactical counsel, manage workflows, lead projects, and anticipate needs of the client and team
  • Serve as a key day-to-day player in the fast growing West Coast and North America technology practice in addition to contributing to the strength of the West Coast and North America Corporate practice.
  • Lead client communications with supervision from manager and reliably represent agency to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Generate story ideas and topic angles, draft media relations materials, and pitch media to land earned coverage
  • Track status of account activities and take a lead role in proactively sharing updates with clients
  • Assist in account budgeting recommendations and ongoing tracking
  • Serve as a role model to team members and delegate tasks as appropriate while still remaining accountable for outcomes 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • BA or BS in communications or related field 
  • 6-7 years of related communications experience 
  • Experience in the technology sector, ideally enterprise technology.
  • Ability to think critically about account work, ask questions as needed and effectively solve problems
  • Exceptional judgment when working with team members, client contacts and partners
  • Be a strong hands-on, rubber-meets-road type that can organize projects and operate multi-faceted programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and internal team members across multiple levels
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes
  • Demonstrates potential to lead multiple accounts and interact with senior level clients
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; applicant must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and interdependently across a diverse organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, online services, and AP style writing is essential

We’re looking for a strong Vice President to join our Consumer Practice, working across a few of America’s most iconic food brands. You will be responsible for managing client relationships, playing a critical role in leading breakthrough activations that earn attention and helping to create truly fun and unique PR campaigns. You will be responsible for all aspects of a client relationship and integrated account team.

Other responsibilities include recommending programs and activities, coordinating with client’s goals, effectively coaching mid and junior level team members, offering counsel to clients and working with strategists, creatives and analysts to create the best work output. You will also be engaged with business development, strategic program planning, and the development of creative concepts. Ideally, you will have agency or consulting experience in the food and beverage or QSR categories.

We are seeking a Senior Associate, Client Experience who is passionate about healthcare and making a difference in the lives of patients living with various diseases and conditions. As a Senior Associate, you will work closely with senior and junior staff members across several teams to provide counsel and manage day-to-day work, in addition to serving as a key client contact.

As a successful Senior Associate, you will be a strong leader with excellent writing and communications skills and an ability to translate client needs into project plans. Ideally, you should have agency/consulting or related experience with a background in healthcare communications, specifically pharmaceutical experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to account team implementation of agreed-upon programs, ensuring quality standards are met and desired results are delivered on-budget
  • Manage project management initiatives
  • Help manage development and revision of client deliverables, ensuring all activities are moving forward and are within deadlines
  • Leverage traditional media as well as influencers and digital/emerging technologies for PR programming
  • Assist in developing a range of external and media materials including press releases, key message documents, pitches, social media content, etc.
  • Support event and activation logistics in a variety of settings
  • Assist in setting and meeting campaign measurement and evaluation criteria
  • Assist in financial management for clients, including development of invoices and activity reports

 Qualifications:

  • Pharmaceutical communications experience
  • Experience with pharmaceutical regulatory process
  • Fluency and/or familiarity with digital and social media
  • Experience working on multi-disciplinary (holistic) communication initiatives
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills
  • Experience with clients and accounts that are measurement and evaluation driven
  • Strong presentation skills, poise, and professionalism

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in public relations at an agency or corporate in-house (healthcare experience required)
  • BA or BS in Public Relations, Communications, or in a related field
