Als PR & Digital Communication Consultant bij Weber Shandwick Nederland werk je – in geïntegreerde teams – voor meerdere merken aan interessante PR & communicatie opdrachten. Als internationaal en full-service PR- en communicatieadviesbureau helpen we onze klanten merkreputaties te bouwen en ondersteunen we hen met online en offline communicatie op zowel merk- als productniveau. Jouw belangrijkste taak is ervoor te zorgen dat onze merken online positief gepresenteerd worden en de juiste doelgroepen bereiken met de juiste content.  Consultants bij Weber Shandwick krijgen volop kansen om projecten uit te voeren voor diverse nationale en internationale merken. Wij werken voor verschillende bekende merken, van food, healthcare, beauty tot technologie. Zoals Dove, Weber BBQ’s, Schär, Maltesers, Pedigree en Philips TV & Sound.

 

Wat breng je mee?

  • HBO en/of WO denkniveau
  • Je hebt 1 tot 2 jaar ervaring in PR en/of digital.
  • Ervaring aan bureauzijde en/of journalistiek is een sterke pré
  • Je hebt in het verleden ervaring opgedaan met media-benadering en hebt een media-netwerk opgebouwd.
  • Je bent goed op de hoogte van de online en social mogelijkheden voor merken en volgt media en influencers op de voet. Je analyseert culturele ontwikkelingen, trends in de verschillende sectoren en herkent kwesties die direct en indirect van invloed kunnen zijn op jouw klanten.       Ervaring met het gebruiken van  social media tools en de Business Managers van deze tools (voornamelijk META en LinkedIn) is een pré.
  • Uitstekende communicatieve (schriftelijk en mondeling) en organisatorische vaardigheden.
  • Nederlands als moedertaal en goed zakelijk Engels (schrijven en spreken) zijn een must
  • Je werkt accuraat, gestructureerd en kunt goed omgaan met deadlines
  • Je bent proactief, een teamplayer, komt snel tot de kern, werkt efficiënt en denkt in oplossingen

We are seeking a strong Manager to join our Media Relations team within our Consumer Practice. About the job

We are looking for an experienced Manager with around 5 years of earned strategy and media relations expertise. You would be working on some of our Belgian market key clients in different industries (Technology, Professional services, Sustainability, Food & Agriculture and Healthcare). With the ability to involve and manage different levels of stakeholders, from clients to media to other senior colleagues. You must be native/bilingual in French, have a good command of English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.

Your focus will be on all that relates to corporate communications, media relations and thought leadership profiling. Other responsibilities include recommending programs and activities, coordinating with clients’ goals, effectively delegating projects and offering counsel to junior team members. Experience in issues and crisis communications is a plus.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintain daily client contact, serving as a trusted resource and advisor.
  • Translate communications plans and strategies into day-to-day tactics.
  • Counsel clients and colleagues on establishing effective relationships with journalists.
  • Lead or co-lead story mining sessions with subject matter experts and client executives; develop news-making story angles that drive coverage results.
  • Understand news cycles, cultural shifts, industry trends and issues that directly and indirectly affect the client and analyze and distill meaningful insights from media coverage in Belgium. Understanding of the pan European/Brussels media landscape is a plus.
  • Generate story ideas and topic angles, draft media materials, and pitch media to land earned coverage.
  • Develop strategic messaging; support creation of integrated media plans and proposals.
  • Stay on top of news, trends and influencers in specific industries and be able to link these to your clients’ objectives.
  • Participate in agency development and assist with new business.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Track record experience of working in public relations in an agency environment or in-house (around 5 years’ experience).
  • Proven experience in media relations / corporate communications and thought leadership. Preferably in the professional services and HR industry. Other areas of interest include sustainability, food & agriculture, technology and healthcare.
  • Demonstrate established relationships with Belgian media (reporters, editors, producers, podcasters, freelancers and contributors).
  • Demonstrated success with media strategy, story development, and pitching.
  • Experience writing PR plans and proposals.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written business communication skills.
  • Instills confidence with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong communicator combined with strong project management skills.
  • Proactive character, able to navigate changeable and fast-paced environments with high expectations.
  • Able to effectively build internal and external relationships.
  • Native/bilingual in French, good command of English, and knowledge of Dutch is a plus.

The Brand Group at Weber Shandwick New York has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate, Men’s Lifestyle and Sports Media Relations Specialist to join our team. We are looking for a collaborative person with a passion for sports and entertainment and excellent expertise in successfully engaging media professionals.

Job description:

  • Work with the team to develop successful earned media strategies grounded in men’s lifestyle, spirits and sports insights, including goals and objectives, media targets, pitch angles and engagement approaches
  • Bolster creative programming recommendations with a focus on national earned media coverage, while still maintaining relationships with influential regional men’s lifestyle and sports journalists
  • Facilitate ongoing conversations with top consumer, men’s lifestyle, spirits, pop culture and sports journalists to keep the business top-of-mind throughout, the year
  • Persuasively pitch media and earn high-profile coverage for clients
  • Provide input on influencer relations marketing campaigns and tactics
  • Develop and manage timelines and weekly action plans to ensure all deadlines on client programs are met
  • Break down and manage detailed tasks with the account team associated with planning and implementing special public relations events

 Qualifications:

  • Strong sports media, men’s lifestyle, pop culture and influencer relations skills and relationships at the national, regional and trade/vertical level
  • Previous consumer packaged goods and related industries experience is a bonus, but not required
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills; verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
  • Open to giving and receiving constructive and respectful feedback in a timely manner
  • Desire to continuously learn new skills and knowledge, and willingness to always share skills and knowledge with team members as well as clients
  • Commitment to personal accountability

NYC Salary range: $62,400.00 – $70,000.00
