About the opportunity:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced HR practitioner who thrives in a fast-moving, highly energetic environment. This role demands a personality that is comfortable to engage and partner with leadership and can connect with employees across all levels of the business. The generalist role includes oversight of all human resource processes and systems and demands strong human resources acumen to be able to enhance existing processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Play a lead role in building and developing a solid HR team & function in Seoul, South Korea
- The role sits on the Executive Leadership Team of the South Korea office, and has a strong voice and collaborative role with senior leadership including the South Korea Managing Director and Exco Members as well as all practice leaders
- Partner closely with the business to ensure solid talent retention programs are in place, bringing an innovative approach to staff career development and incentive programs – integrating the activities with L&D to support development of career paths within the businesses
- Ensure full compliance of all HR policies, and legal requirements within South Korea market regulations
- Take ownership and process manage the performance review process across the brands (with support of team)
- Address staff performance issues across the businesses as required, minimizing terminations and legal exposure wherever possible
- Ensure relevant market data on remuneration is formalised and used to build reliable models for remuneration for all levels in South Korea
- Partner closely with APAC regional HR and Talent Acquisition leads, with regards to global and regional initiatives, policies, procedures, and requirements
- Collaborate on global and regional team activities in areas of recognition and reward strategies and initiative motivational programs for employees.
PERSON PROFILE
- Proven background in in-house Human Resources in the South Korea market, with the ability to provide strategic counsel while taking a long-term perspective, and to dive in operationally as and when needed, including providing guidance on Korean Labour Law
- Proven ability to hire and develop an on-the-ground strong team encompassing the full human resource employee cycle
- Build and lead initiatives to enhance employee experience in collaboration with Korea leadership team
- Work closely with MD and finance to align on business priorities and map back with people strategy
- Ability to manage complex relationships diplomatically and consultatively
- Ability to manage teams live and remotely and individuals to enable them to perform to their fullest potential
- Confident and clear communicator, with strong English language skills and the ability to work across markets as needed
- Ability to think creatively, strategically, strong negotiation skills, in-depth analytical skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload effectively, within a deadline-driven and changing environment, using initiative to make decisions in complex situations
- Ability to challenge the status quo and strive for continuous improvement
- Ability to grasp issues and business realities quickly and establish a rapport with all stakeholders at all levels.

Account Director, Technology
We’re looking for an Account Director to join our Technology team in Seoul. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client accounts, developing and executing communication strategies, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. Our team in Korea work with some of the largest international and local businesses and this is a great opportunity for someone wanting to get more experience working on large-scale global communications projects with international stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Media and Communications
- Develop and implement strategic communication plans that align with clients’ business objectives
- Deal with the crisis and major issue management
- Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts in the technology sector, including journalists, influencers, and industry analysts
- Create and execute media relations strategies to secure positive media coverage for clients across various channels (print, online, broadcast).
- Proactively pitch story ideas and news releases to media outlets, effectively positioning clients as industry thought leaders.
- Monitor media coverage and provide timely reporting and analysis to clients.
Client
- Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned client accounts
- Keep client programs on schedule and ensure all deadliness are met
- Plan and implement programs; forecast and manage budgets, profitability and receivables for new and existing clients
- Proactively handle client problems quickly and adeptly
- Contribute to and promote business development by counselling clients
- Develop and deliver client presentations
- Generate new business from existing clients and new clients by developing programs, making credentials presentations, presenting program recommendations and pursuing new business leads
Team Management
- Train and motivate team members
- Contribute to performance reviews
- Create opportunities for team members to enhance growth with agency
- Ensure account team members adhere to agency time reporting and financial guidelines
- Involved in staffing of team including reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates and product of client
Qualifications:
- Min 7 years of experience in PR account management, ideally working with clients in the Technology field
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Knowledge of media relations and experience pitching to journalists
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills that bring your ideas to life through explanations that engage and excite internal and external audiences
- Flawless attention to detail with a proven ability to manage full project lifecycles from brief to delivery and measurement
- Enthusiasm for strategic planning, creative ideation, new business development and long-term client partnerships
- Understand the elements that make a story exciting, what brands are doing in the press and on social platforms, and what they should do next
- A team player who can collaborate with a range of people to devise the best approach to the work in hand and bring your team along with you throughout the journey
- Fluency in English and Korean is essential
- Proficiency in MS Office and PR software tools
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
