Weber Shandwick is looking for a Senior Manager, Client Experience – Technology to join our growing focused on supporting clients in the technology space, including enterprise software, electronics, semiconductor manufacturing and aerospace.

 

In this role, you will play a critical role in driving long-term success of our New York Technology practice, serving as day-to-day client liaison, recommending programs and activities to meet client goals, effectively managing external communications projects, delivering sound counsel and managing account budgets. The ideal candidate has a background in broad corporate communications with strong capability in media relations and experience – or strong interest – in technology.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop understanding of the client’s industry, business and target audience, and work with senior specialists across media, strategy, creative and issues management to deliver solutions that meet program objectives
  • Identify and analyze industry issues that directly and indirectly impact the client and distill meaningful insights to provide proactive counsel, and maintain real-time understanding of tech trends to support proactive ideation
  • Generate storytelling ideas and topic angles, collaboratively develop content, draft media and briefing materials, and pitch media to land earned opportunities
  • Assist in financial management for clients, including development of invoices, budget reconciliation and activity reports
  • Actively participate in agency growth and assist with new business as needed
  • Mentor, coach and support team members and support development of their skills
  • Participate in office-wide initiatives, seminars and meetings to further professional learning and development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations
  • 4+ years’ relevant experience
  • Broad corporate communications experience, particularly in media relations
  • Passion for technology is a must – experience and technical knowledge is a plus

NYC Salary range: $110,000 – $115,000

Senior Vice President, Client Experience

Weber Shandwick is currently seeking a Freelance Senior Vice President to join its Public Affairs teams to play a central role with new and longstanding clients.

Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of leading external communications, including working directly with senior-level clients/stakeholders to shape strategies and messaging. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the U.S. political landscape at the federal, state and local levels, as well as the intersection of earned, paid and owned media, including through experience working for elected officials, candidates, or campaigns.

The candidate will also understand the expectations on the private sector to lead – alone, or in partnership with government – to solve important national and global challenges, such as climate change and rising inequity.

Candidates must be driven, poised and team-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to learn issues quickly and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences. They must possess exceptional judgment when working with team members, client contacts and vendors, including legal and government relations partners, and experience managing teams and supervising individuals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement purpose, public affairs and issue advocacy campaigns on behalf of corporate, non-profit, coalition and trade association clients, including in highly-regulated industries
  • Serve as a primary client contact responsible for strategic counsel, management of account deliverables and deadlines
  • Develop, oversee and execute corporate reputation, stakeholder engagement and integrated marketing and communications programs and campaigns, including but not limited to: data and analytics, strategic planning, formative research, message testing, creative concepting and production, earned, paid and owned media
  • Manage cross-functional teams, providing leadership, direction and guidance to ensure we deliver our best work and exceed client expectations

We are seeking a strong Senior Manager to join our Healthcare Practice. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for managing client and inter-agency relationships, playing a critical role in elevating the long-term success of our Health practice.

You will serve as the day-to-day client liaison, responsible for partnering with senior team members to supervise major pieces of business across several work streams. Other responsibilities include recommending programs and activities, planning and delivering against clients’ goals, effectively delegating projects, offering counsel to team members, and allocating agency resources to match client budgets.

In this role, you will be working on developing and overseeing annual plans, key messages/ corporate narratives reputation management, executive thought leadership, internal communications, crisis communications, and integrated media strategies to protect and drive corporate reputation and value proposition narratives for pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and health association clients and prospects. We’re looking for someone with an equal passion for corporate communications and healthcare. Who understands product portfolios and pipelines as much as corporate communications. This individual must be an excellent people leader and client counselor, with a willingness and drive to roll up their sleeves and stay close to the work.
