We Are Seeking:

The Weber Shandwick New York office is currently seeking a Vice President to support several clients in our growing Financial Services portfolio within our Enterprise practice. The ideal candidate will have deep subject matter expertise in working in consumer finance sub-sectors such as payments, fintech, crypto, retail banking, personal finance, retirement and investing.

 

You will have the opportunity to drive a broad range of consumer and B2B2C campaigns across a variety of clients, while leading a team of practitioners and collaborating with Weber Shandwick’s network to develop strategic and creative client work. You will spearhead high profile, award-worthy, earned-driven integrated activations. You will work with high profile celebrity talent, influencers and events. You will be responsible for managing client and inter-agency relationships, playing a critical role in determining the future and long-term success of our practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of a client relationship and fast-moving account team. You will supervise big pieces of business with multiple work streams and team members.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Develop and grow positive relationships with clients, maintaining the company’s reputation in terms of delivery and quality
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients, assess problems and define logical and effective solutions for clients
  • Lead the delivery of quick-turn, high-profile project assignments across national and local markets
  • Be a project management wiz. Communicate expectations and goals to the team on an ongoing basis, helping to keep the team motivated by communicating clear tasks and actions
  • Work successfully with partner agencies as part of a client integrated agency team, both internally at WS and externally
  • Work effectively with finance colleagues to deliver accurate estimates for client projects or new business work. The ideal candidate will lead monthly budget tracking, and compile and edit SOW’s that adhere to a full picture view of a project’s scope
  • Write well-structured, persuasive content and help train other team colleagues to do the same
  • Contribute innovative ideas for the client and new business work, inspiring ideation amongst team members

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years public relations experience, financial services client experience required
  • Agency experience (preferred)
  • Experience working in payments, credit cards, fintech and/or consumer finance with deep understanding of the competitive landscape, product differentiation and the relevant media landscape
  • You are both a creative and a strategic thinker, and a natural team leader who operates quickly
  • Needs to have a track record in client service to senior level clients
  • Strategic media relations knowledge and strong relationships with relevant reporter beats across business financial and consumer press
  • BA or BS in Communications or related degree

NYC Salary range: $125,000 – $165,000

Basic Qualifications:

  •         At least 8-10 years’ experience in agency, PR/Communications space
  •         Experienced in Integrated Media Strategy and Media Relations, ideally within the consumer or CPG space
  •         Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business Management, or related field

Weber Shandwick is currently seeking a Vice President, Client Experience to join our Healthcare team. You will be responsible for managing client and inter-agency relationships, playing a critical role in determining the future and long-term success of our Healthcare Practice.

The Vice President will have proven leadership and client service skills, and experience managing integrated communications campaigns. The candidate will be the day-to-day contact for clients, manage communications across a cross-functional agency team as well as client team, and support flawless execution in the most efficient and productive way. They will display personal ownership and accountability for client engagement, with the ability to cultivate and nurture long-term partnerships and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will have experience with consumer programs, never-ending curiosity, a desire to always do better, and the ability to inspire and connect with teams. They will be a hands-on team member who values people and culture. We are a company of doers even at the most senior level.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive development of solution-based program strategies and direct development of tactical plans
  • Maintain daily client contact, serving as a trusted resource and advisor
  • Facilitate cross-functional team integration (strategy, creative, integrated media specialists, etc.) to deliver on client plans
  • Act as effective, two-way translator between clients and teams, actively counseling development of work in the best interest of all parties
  • Proactively support and suggest improvements and new ideas to exceed client expectations by leveraging industry knowledge and experience
  • Have ownership of client financials and profitability
  • Coordinate integration with other agency partners
  • Successfully navigate conflicts across internal stakeholders, clients and agency partners
  • Manage ongoing team resourcing/staffing to ensure successful delivery of work product
  • Actively participate in agency development and assist with new business

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 9-12 years of relevant healthcare communications experience, ideally both agency and in-house
  • Significant experience providing thought leadership and counsel to senior management
  • Ability to translate client needs into workable plans/projects
  • Depth in stakeholder mapping and building programs to reach them in engaging ways
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams; mentoring team members
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Confident presenter and persuasive speaker
  • Financial acumen in the areas of budgeting, billing and staffing
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree

About the Role

We are looking for a new SVP for our healthcare practice.

This is a unique, career-enhancing role on large accounts, and an opportunity to partner with exceptional senior account leaders across the company.

This new leader’s overall responsibility is to be the day-to-day strategist for the clients, manage the overall relationship, deploy the teams in the most efficient and productive way to execute flawlessly, and be a supportive coach. The successful candidate will have experience with data and regulatory milestones along with consumer programs, and display passion, never-ending curiosity, a desire to always be better, and the ability to inspire and connect with teams across offices. Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture client relationships and grow business by providing leadership, direction and strategic guidance to colleagues, day-to-day teams and senior level clients
  • Lead, develop and coach teams
  • Guide and inspire clients to continue expand the kinds of communications work they are doing digitally directly tied to meeting their business challenges
  • Develop quality standards and ensure client satisfaction
  • Draw on our total agency resources for every project, including health creative, digital and media specialists
  • Educate teams to ensure that they are delivering state-of-the-art counsel and content to their clients
  • Stay ahead of the shifts in the healthcare environment and provide guidance to teams and clients
  • Participate in new business pitch development and/or presentations
  • Participate as part of the practice leadership team on the operations of the group
  • Actively engage in the culture of the agency to lead by example

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of experience in PR inclusive of agency experience working on large scale integrated communications campaigns

Additional Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of the pharma regulatory landscape
  • Experience, at an agency or in-house, managing a large pharmaceutical account (over $1 million in billings) and the keen organizational skills needed to do so. Experience on accounts that span multiple cities with integrated account teams preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Great track record of success leading teams and developing talent
  • Proficiency in MSOffice, advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and other presentation platforms
