Weber Shandwick is looking for a dynamic Creative Director with a focus on social campaigns and earned first creative ideas in the health and wellness category.  This candidate is a highly conceptual and strategic thinker with a strong repertoire of storytelling skills, agnostic of platform. Big ideas that drive conversation and coverage must be at the core of the work. The Creative Director must have excellent presentation and client-facing skills along with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once. They are the ultimate collaborator – comfortable working within fluid team structures, from running the behind the scenes on big ideas to managing and mentoring the work of assigned junior talent. This candidate will be responsible for developing earned campaign ideas and social and content led activations for a range of clients, channels, and creative platforms. They will contribute to new business efforts as well as ongoing client work. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ideate and execute earned and social first creative activations in the health and wellness space
  • Creatively interpret strategy vision of client’s business
  • Liaise with client teams to ensure alignment with client objectives
  • Establish and set quality standards for the creative team
  • Collaborate and concept across integrated teams and platforms
  • Foster a culture of creative innovation, excellence, and accountability
  • Mentor staff, receive and provide constructive feedback
  • Remain current, sharing industry best practices, trends, and techniques

 BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years’ experience in Creative Director role on the agency side
  • Experience in big ideas, brand activations, scripts, social content, and creative writing
  • Experience delivering creative campaigns for PR (earned, owned and paid strategies)
  • Experience in digital (social, content, video, media, influencer)
  • A love and respect for true collaboration between teams, from concept to completion

The Ideal Candidate Would Have:

  • 3-5 years of editorial experience at a media or online publishing company

  • Excellent editing, writing, and grammatical skills
  • A keen sense of news value and editorial judgment, especially in the Healthcare beat
  • Experience writing, reporting, and interviewing
  • Ability to develop creative story ideas and an eagerness to execute them.
  • Be able to write sharp, engaging copy on a variety of Pharma/Healthcare topics, in a variety of voices for different audiences and in a variety of content types
  • Ability to develop content strategies, including setting goals, determining audiences, performing research and competitor audits, choosing channels, and developing editorial calendars
  • Experience writing for a medical industry or professional audience
  • Knowledge of multimedia storytelling
  • A clear ability to work autonomously, with solid decision-making skills and the ability to identify concerns and issues
  • Can communicate effectively with clients and internal team members
  • Can demonstrate a thorough understanding of web publishing from site structure to overseeing asset management; from editing copy to producing content on publishing platforms (WordPress, Expression Engine, etc.).

What You Will Do:

  • Analyze Pharma/Healthcare client objectives and audiences to determine content channels, and types.
  • Create editorial workflows, develop content calendars, and report on content results.
  • Generate and help produce story and content packages (blog posts, though leadership op-eds, social posts/calendars, email/website copy, podcast/video scripts and whitepapers).
  • Edit and help oversee editorial calendars — both for websites and social channels.
  • Edit stories from freelancers and others for publication on the web.
  • Develop and write short-form copy for social posts across multiple channels.
  • Produce content in CMS such as WordPress.
  • Manage analytics and reporting on web content.
  • Contribute story ideas – from pitch to execution – for multiple digital platforms.
  • Coordinate with other departments and teammates, such as art, media buying, social media and more.

We are also interested in candidates who have:

  • Powerpoint experience preferred
  • Familiarity with using WordPress and CMS platforms
  • SEO familiarity is a plus

Senior Vice President, Client Experience - Consumer

We Are Seeking:

We’re looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Senior Vice President to join our Consumer Practice, working across consumer health and CPG brands. You will spearhead high profile, award-worthy, social and influencer-driven integrated activations and productions for one of our top consumer health clients.

 

Working in a dynamic agency-client model, you will work with high profile talent, influencers and oversee global experiences for brands. You will be responsible for managing client and inter-agency relationships, playing a critical role in determining the future and long-term success of not only this business, but also our Consumer Practice. You will be responsible for all aspects of a client relationship and account team and will supervise big pieces of business with multiple work streams and team members.

 

Other responsibilities include recommending programs and activities coordinating with client’s goals, effectively delegating projects, offering counsel to team members and allocating agency resources to match client budgets. You will also be engaged with business development, strategic program planning, analytics, media relations and the development and execution of creative concepts. Ideally, you will have global agency experience, and have executed multiple global campaigns in scale.

  • 12+ years of experience in PR inclusive of agency experience working on integrated communications campaigns, specifically social and influencer-led assignments

  • Proven track record of proactively identifying and delivering strategic opportunities that unlock account growth beyond the current or ‘expected’ remit
  • Strong familiarity and expertise related to social, digital and influencer channels that can further fuel earned-driven communications
  • Exceptional client service track record with ability to counsel and interact effectively with senior management at client organizations
  • Experience managing a large CPG account (over $1 million in billings) and the keen organizational skills needed to juggle multiple client needs at once
  • Ability to efficiently manage cross-office teams that span multiple cities and countries with integrated account teams preferred

Account Director, Influencer Strategy

Responsibilities: 

  • Spearhead high profile activations and campaigns for some of our top lifestyle, consumer health, and CPG clients. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses and target audiences, and working in close collaboration with our Creative, Insights and Client Experience teams, lead the creation and execution of integrated multi-platform campaigns that drive meaningful results 
  • Build social influencer strategies cross-functionally to align strategic efforts and priorities, and able to develop strategic outputs with little to no oversight. Collaborate closely with strategy, creative, paid and larger integrated agency teams to deliver program initiatives. 
  • Closely partner with social platform and digital SMEs to stay at the forefront of technology trends and emerging platforms to champion social and digital innovations and continuously further our offerings to break through social clutter and break through in earned media 
  • Provide expert counsel to clients and colleagues on social/digital/influencer best practices 
  • Serve as trusted voice on pop-culture, social trends and other cultural nuances for clients  
  • Lead end-to-end influencer procurement process from influencer recommendations to negotiations to servicing the partnerships. 
  • Play a lead role in the agency’s Influencer center of excellence, which develops and manages key relationships with talent agencies and content creators, and institutionalizes a set of best-in-class tools and processes for identification, contract negotiation, content planning, measurement and ROI analysis 
  • Collaborate effectively with inter-agency teams to develop holistic plans and fully integrated strategies for our clients 
  • Lead a high-performing team; mentor and develop junior team members 

Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years of experience, preferably within an agency environment 
  • Strong understanding of the overall media and social landscape, with an emphasis on digital  experience 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to develop relationships with influencers, creators, agencies, and other partners. 
  • Passion for tracking and understanding new trends in culture  
  • Deep expertise in managing influencer programs 
  • Strong knowledge of social platforms, including paid amplification and campaign optimization 
  • Strong understanding of marketing funnel analytics & KPIs 
  • Familiarity with a broad set of social, media and influencer analytics tools

Know how to identify and manage diverse vendors and partners: in an industry where technologies (saas platforms, AI, managed services, etc) are popping on the daily, at high volume, no less, you must have experience working with RFPs and meeting with leading tech companies to understand their services and identify their uniqueness (and keep up with their ongoing changes in our WS influencer database) 

Be ready to lead at any moment: working with your leads, you will learn to “step up to the plate” and lead effectively in the client’s and agency’s best interests while also helping to cultivate, mentor and coach mid to junior staff members on the influencer team. 

Hustle: identify influencer opportunities (organic or new) to ensure influencer marketing continues to be a strong marketing discipline and revenue driver on your assigned account or at Weber Shandwick.
