You are an experienced professional who can bridge the worlds of quantitative analysis and senior account leadership with an integrated approach to media research, insights, analytics and data for existing and new Healthcare clients.

Weber Shandwick seeks an experienced VP to champion, advance and accelerate the use of data and bespoke advanced analytics in communications both within Weber Shandwick and for our Healthcare clients.

This position will sit on New York’s Analytics team but will work hand-in-hand with client experience leaders across the global network. The ideal candidate for this position will have prior experience selling or marketing scaled custom analytics solutions to sophisticated Healthcare marketing and corporate communications audiences.

The position will directly report to the Head of Analytics for the East region and will support teams across all North American practice areas and lead Weber Shandwick’s most complex Healthcare analytics work.

Responsibilities

Lead Quantitative Healthcare Analytics team

  • Maintain deep knowledge and points-of-view on cutting-edge technologies, tools, platforms, and partners relevant to integrated media analytics—including overseeing and/or participating in the rollout of new technologies and partnerships to relevant teams
  • Provide hands-on consultancy, collaboration and support to clients and project teams in designing, staffing, and delivering analytics work

Engage Client Experience Leads

  • Work closely with firm, regional, practice and other discipline leaders in identifying opportunities and reducing barriers to advancing the use and sophistication of analytics across all offices
  • Contribute to business development and growth (both new client and organic growth) through the use of analytics in proposal development, as well as by designing and selling specific analytics solutions to clients
  • Lead thought-leadership efforts around the use of analytics in communications and marketing, both inside and outside of Weber Shandwick

Contribute to the development of new analytics tools and techniques/methodology

  • Engage as an active participant in product development work with data science, data engineering and product management organization
  • Be the voice-of-the-customer as company seeks to break new analytic ground

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • 10-12 years of related professional experience within an agency, consulting or corporate setting
  • Talent development experience and skill in building, leading, coaching, and motivating analyst teams
  • Ability to derive relevant insights from diverse sources of data, both qualitative and quantitative, including published sources, syndicated data, and proprietary data, and then translating those insights into specific media strategies and recommendations
  • Ability to design research and analyses to test specific hypothesis around optimal communications creative and channel mix

Preferred Requirements

  • Working knowledge of advanced statistics and data modeling techniques, including regression and classification techniques, as well as use of techniques and tools appropriate for analysis of both structured and unstructured data
  • Experience using media/marketing intelligence, social listening or other research tools such as: Brandwatch, GlobalWebIndex, NewsWhip, Meltwater, Cision, Quid, Affinio, Simmons/MRI and Comscore
  • Experience using desktop applications and software used for data/statistical analysis, manipulation and visualization including Tableau, SAS, SQL, MS Office Excel and PowerPoint
  • Hands-on experience in managing data and data mining
  • Ability to develop frameworks for steering complex insight/analytics projects

New York Salary range: $135,000 – $170,000

  • Proven ability to counsel Fortune 100 clients 
  • Talent development experience and skill in building, leading, coaching, and motivating research and analytics teams 
  • Ability to derive relevant insights from diverse sources of data, both qualitative and quantitative, including published sources, syndicated data, and proprietary data, and then translating those insights into specific media strategies and recommendations 
  • Health sector experience, ideally designing and delivering solutions for payor, provider, pharma and/or major health systems in the US. 
  • Ability to design research, analyses, and test plans to explore hypotheses such as optimizing communications regarding creative and channel mix 
  • Passion for innovation and technology 
  • Behavioral Science experience is a plus 

Skills

Director, Data Engineer

Weber Shandwick is seeking a Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and processing systems. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Python and have extensive experience developing sophisticated data pipelines using Apache Airflow and Kubernetes for large scale-tasks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining architectures, including databases and large-scale processing systems. They will also be expected to recommend and implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality. This role requires a high level of creativity and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication skills.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer using proven, industry-leading cloud platforms, specifically within AWS.
  • Proficiency in Python using Pandas Dataframes.
  • Experience developing sophisticated data pipelines using Apache Airflow.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration systems like Kubernetes and using Kubernetes within Apache Airflow for large scale tasks.
  • Experience with UI work using Python frameworks like Streamlit, Flask or similar.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct independent work and manage projects from beginning to end.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant AWS certifications.
  • Experience with social media data and APIs.
  • Working knowledge of BI platforms such as Domo, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc.

Responsibilities  

This leader will be responsible for ongoing development of the insights suite that powers our Corporate affairs and public affairs value proposition. They will ensure narrative intelligence is seamlessly integrated end-to-end into our corporate work and remit and will work with BSF finance leaders in the region on pricing strategies to drive profitable growth. They will work with KRC Research leaders, product leads, and A+I leaders across CA and PA to design integrated analytics and insight offerings across primary and secondary research resources/approaches and ensure the agency has the right vendor partners, licenses and subscriptions for efficient and high quality quantitative and qualitative research & analysis. They will provide senior counsel to top tier CA/PA new business opportunities, including proactive targets, and make recommendations regarding research investments for priority business pitches.
