Weber Shandwick is looking for a VP of Strategic Planning, Healthcare to steer the strategy for multiple high-profile healthcare accounts, from a pharma company with innovative oncology treatments to first-to-market leaders in vaccines and rare disease.

CLIENT AND WORK

Leads integrated teams to create and implement flawless execution plans informed by strategic vision, with very limited support from senior strategic planning leadership

Responsible for all strategic planning for a limited number of clients

Leads the strategic process, from start to finish

Oversee the crafting and evaluation of primary and secondary research plans to segment audiences, and understand the cultural, societal, business and media context impacting a business to uncover business insights

Leads engagement with confidence and commitment to high quality, data-driven strategic brand recommendations, tactical plans and programs

Focuses on the strategic vision driving the detailed execution and performance evaluation

Ensures the plan is strategically sound, accurately addresses interesting insights and opportunities informed by research/ analytics findings in partnership with Global Intelligence

 

LEADERSHIP AND TALENT MANAGEMENT

Manages account engagements independently, with minimal guidance

Guides planning resources, assignment of strategic planning staff

Establishes interpersonal relationships within and outside of department, with focus on building inclusive culture and mentoring colleagues outside of personal relationships

Promotes the development and advancement of underrepresented groups in team through professional development trainings

Mentors, coaches and develops direct reports to deliver high performance while supporting personal and professional development goals

Actively participates in the hiring and onboarding of talent; Supports and develops processes to enhance inclusive hiring practices for team

Participate in trainings build own cultural competency and ability to lead, coach and develop diverse teams

Actively participates in office or agency DEI initiatives to attract and retain diverse talent

 

GROWTH AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Responsible for identifying opportunities to expand client engagements in partnership with integrated teams

Responsible for net new business opportunities

 

BUSINESS ACUMEN

Responsible for reviewing, approving draft scopes, allocations and comparison against actuals

NYC Salary range: $145,000 – $180,000

Senior Manager, Corporate Communications

We are seeking a Senior Manager to join the Corporate Practice in our Chicago office to support a broad range of client and new business needs.   • Support issues and crises, including media monitoring, creation of reactive statements and materials, preparedness and scenario plans
  • Build strong client and internal relationships, confidence and trust by proactively anticipating and understanding client needs.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and experience to proactively support and recommend new ideas.
  • Contribute to the career growth of junior team members, serving as mentor and role model.
  • Actively participate in team culture, external visibility events and assist with new business.

Senior Project Manager

Weber Shandwick is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager, Integrated Project Management for the Washington, DC Project Management team who will work closely with team members in account, creative, public relations, and strategy, as well as report to a VP, across a portfolio of brands and/or projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with creative, strategy, paid, account management and other internal teams to help drive best-in-class solutions for medium to large programs
  • Manage project deliverables across multiple medium- large scale campaigns and help coordinate various functions including creative, strategy, insights, paid media, and analytics
  • Professionally manage large scale engagements with account team partners focusing on balancing quality, cost and schedule, while exceeding client expectations
  • Set expectations at the beginning of a project: as any issues arise, find solutions without compromising quality, team morale, or budget
  • Be the conductor of a project/team and a proactive, solution-oriented, and strategic advisor
  • Have a solid understanding of the creative development, production and paid media delivery processes and focus on stewarding the work from concept through delivery.
  • Manage account budgets, scopes, and time while providing frequent updates to key stakeholders
  • Partner with account leadership and finance to facilitate accurate and realistic forecasts; actively manage any forecast mitigation as needed
  • Partner with account leadership to manage team on-boarding processes, including educating team members on roles and responsibilities, processes, and templates
  • Serve as contact for client finance relative to financial management of the account
  • Demonstrate strong, professional work ethic and financial acumen

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of Project Management experience, preferably in an agency setting, media relations
  • Strong financial management skills, including scoping, burn report tracking, resource allocation across project tasks. Prior experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and scopes.
  • SME with different types of programs and deliverables, such as strategic planning, creative ideation, video, social and editorial content, digital, and partner management
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal team members across multiple disciplines and levels, instilling confidence, and trust in your abilities
  • Be comfortable digging into account finances: developing staffing models, writing SOWs, tracking burn rates, etc.
  • Experience working closely with the implementation of an integrated media mix of paid, owned and earned programs
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members across multiple levels, building trust in your abilities to get the job done effectively
  • Have excellent organization and time management skills
  • Understanding of government clients preferred

Senior Strategist

We are seeking a new Senior Strategist to join our team. The ideal candidate is someone who has previous strategy experience, strong understanding of evolving media landscape (especially earned and social media) and an inherent love and aptitude for culture. You’ll be expected to work within an integrated team, working with account, creative and analytics functions to create flawless campaigns that drive results for clients. 

 

Position Description 

  • Work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop strong, innovative earned-first strategies and campaigns
  • Stay up to date on latest cultural trends, creating reports and guiding the team on activating against those
  • Help turn research-based observations into inspiring insights and briefs for creative and media teams
  • Have a deep understanding of digital and social media platforms and how to create for each individually
  • Develop and deliver crisp, compelling and visually engaging presentations and pitches
  • Create measurement frameworks for business and brand impact and conduct data-driven analysis
  • Actively lead strategy sessions and creative brainstorms and contribute to  client presentations
  • Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers across the business, including creative and media (earned, paid and social) specialists, research/analytics experts, and account teams

 

Qualifications

  • 4-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Strongly entrenched in brands and culture
  • Strong understanding of the earned media (including earned social) landscape
  • Knowledge of evolving social platforms and community engagement on social
  • Strong knowledge of broad set of audience, insights and analytics tools such as YouGov, MRI, GWI, WARC, etc is a must.  Experience with AI research tools is desirable
  • Demonstrated expertise with media intelligence and social listening tools such as Talkwalker, Brandwatch, Cision, Meltwater, Agility PR, etc.  
  • Strong understanding and experience with primary research (surveys and studies)
  • Detail-oriented, multi-tasker with excellent time-management skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication and visual presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to construct a strategic argument supported by evidence
  • Ability to quickly understand and translate complex business or policy issues
  • Strong time management, project management and organizational skills
  • Meaningfully contribute to a civil, fast paced, inclusive and positive work environment
  • Enough poise to work with multiple creative and account management colleagues across diverse experience levels and disciplines
  • Proactive, self-starter who can work well both independently and as part of a team
