Weber Shandwick is excited to be seeking a talented Conceptual Designer to join our Creative Services practice. Based in the UK and working as part of our in-house, integrated design team, you are a passionate, Conceptual Designer who comes from an integrated agency background. You are a team player who prides themselves on developing creative concepts into world-class Earned Campaigns.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create first-class designs across a number of touch points, including OOH, press, social, global tool kits, pitch concepts and brand guidelines.
  • Partner with our creative leads to oversee the complete design process from the concept phase through to delivery
  • Have the ability to work on a number of projects and tasks simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and creative standards are always maintained.
  • Provide input to project managers and producers, allowing them to budget correctly on upcoming briefs.
  • Be an effective communicator, who can confidently present their design work to senior stakeholders within the business
  • You are passionate about design as a discipline and will proactively champion innovation and craft.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to the junior members of the team and always maintain the highest of professional standards.

Ideal experience required:

  • Previous experience working in a creative studio as a conceptual designer.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is essential as well as a working knowledge of PowerPoint.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates a number of brilliantly designed and crafted campaigns that you have led.
  • Great communication skills, showcasing the ability to collaborate with colleagues across the design team and the wider agency to bring ideas to life in brilliantly designed presentations
  • Strong presentation skills whilst being able to clearly understand and process internal feedback in a collaborative fashion
  • Ability to work under pressure and proactively manage time, meeting deadlines and plan and prioritise workload to ensure all tasks are completed in line with agreed deadlines
  • Impeccable attention to detail and an eye for the latest trend or direction in presentation design

A snapshot of the role:

Weber Shandwick is looking for a talented AD to join the Corporate Enterprise team based in the London office, working as a Sustainability specialist.

You’ll have a strong corporate reputation background, working with big brands to help understand and navigate topics from across the sustainability landscape, such as climate change, circularity and health.

The practice is made up of smart, dedicated, and fun team members with expertise spanning B2B, Corporate, Public Affairs, Crisis/Issues, Social Impact/ESG and Technology.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced practitioner who is curious, ambitious, proactive and friendly. You will enjoy working on a portfolio of well-known global brands, executing integrated campaigns involving earned media, strategy, creative, analytics and digital. You’ll lead the day-to-day running of accounts, provide counsel, manage budgets, and lead and inspire your team to deliver flawless execution of activities.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Provide high-level strategic counsel to clients, being able to proactively identify and assess problems, define logical and effective strategies, and implement solutions on their behalf
  • Be a highly trusted senior point of contact for clients, responsible for leading a team to deliver an exceptional client experience
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams in the development of both over-arching strategy and creative campaign ideas
  • Act as a facilitator, bringing in specialist practitioners within the practice and throughout the wider London office to support in the delivery of integrated communications campaigns
  • Lead market co-ordination for UK, international and global campaigns
  • Oversee the flawless execution of media/campaign strategies of multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Demonstrate proficiency in understanding communications and business goals, and the ability to link team efforts to these in order to demonstrate value and impact for clients
  • Stay on top of industry news, trends and influencers in specific industries and be able to link these to your clients’ objectives
  • Work effectively with finance colleagues to support the client lead in client budgeting and resource management, including forecasting, hours allocation for team members, project and plan budgeting, managing servicing levels
  • Lead in the development and presentation of new business pitches
  • Support on the growth and awareness of the Sustainability specialism across the agency.

 

Who are you?

  • Significant previous experience in comms or marketing is essential
  • Strong experience working on sustainability topics and campaigns for clients, with experience of health preferred but not essential
  • A strategic and growth mindset for our clients’ businesses and a nose for hunting opportunities
  • Interested in the complex sustainability landscape, regularly reading media coverage on emerging topics and conversations
  • Proficiency in both media relations and the delivery of an exceptional client experience
  • A comprehensive roster of journalist contacts within corporate, business and/or sustainability at titles covering international, national and trade/vertical sector publications A proven ability to manage large and multi-market teams to deliver work of the highest quality
  • Experience working with multiple disciplines and specialists to deliver integrated campaigns
  • Mastery in copywriting a range of external and media materials including press releases, key message documents, pitches, social media content, etc.
  • Familiarity with quantitative analytics and an ability to set and evaluate campaign metrics
  • Strong presentation skills and a desire and experience being involved in new business pitching
  • Experience developing and managing campaigns and being a day-to-day lead for clients, with a track record of providing strategic counsel

We’re looking for an Associate Creative Director with a background in art direction and creative direction who will help manage large-scale accounts. We’re seeking someone who is a highly conceptual problem solver, an articulate presenter of ideas, a builder of strong client relationships, and a storyteller who will convey our clients’ messaging in new and ground-breaking ways. You’ll have the chance to join a team that creates award-winning work for national and global brands largely across social impact and public healthcare, across social, traditional, and earned media including clients in the healthcare/pharmaceutical vertical.

You’ll be someone who values mentoring and managing teams of junior creatives, leading by example, with a keen eye for organization and detail. You’ll motivate the team and keep them focused on the task at hand – but you’ll still love getting your hands dirty managing the creative process and work alongside them. You will work closely with project management, production, and account teams to help keep the work running smoothly.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate creative solutions across all existing and emerging platforms including: product launches, digital advertising, social campaigns, PR stunts, online videos, TV ads, radio ads and a wide variety of brand touch-points
  • Cultivate an inclusive culture within the team that values trust, honest and team accountability towards defined goals and results
  • Execute work in a variety of conceptual disciplines, generating big ideas while demonstrating comprehension of executional ones.
  • Push creative boundaries and propose brave ideas
  • Manage the overall quality of the creative concept and its execution on assigned programs
  • In partnership with the Creative Director/Executive Creative Director, continually lead projects to innovate the process, the ideas, and the strategies to grow accounts
  • Find solutions that will have a business impact on clients as well as a cultural impact on consumers
  • Communicate and be a storyteller for your team’s conceptual and directional choices
  • With the Creative Director/Executive Creative Director, drive the collaborative efforts of the project’s creative team
  • Continually develop practices and processes to lead, inspire, innovate, and harness new ways of thinking

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates conceptual big thinking
  • Values teamwork, inclusivity, honesty, trust and team accountability
  • 7 to 10 years’ experience as a creator, managing projects as a part of a team
  • A love for art and design, but an eye for great writing.
  • A real grasp of what makes for compelling work – whether on social platforms, in video, or in big earned media activations and ideas that get talked about, reported on, and pointed to by other agencies with an “I wish we’d done that” envy
  • The ability to concept across a broad range of media, in a variety of tones and voices
  • Solid knowledge of the marketing industry at large; an ability and a desire to adapt to the changing landscape of technology
  • Proven leadership skills managing multiple projects/tasks/teams of varying complexities, meeting deadlines, and working well under pressure
  • Video production experience – whether for online video, TV, etc. – and the ability to storyboard and art direct concise scripts accordingly
  • An authentic attitude geared towards positive, solutions-focused action that always comes from a place of respect and inclusion
  • Exceptional internal and external communication skills, someone who can present and uphold their work clearly and confidently
  • Experience with social media platforms and a working knowledge of their best practices
  • An interest in staying on top of emerging platforms, mobile design, & development trends

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior healthcare and social impact experience a plus.
  • Education in advertising design, writing or conceptual thinking is preferred.
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately within all required aspects of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) as well as presentation software (PowerPoint); any AfterEffects animation skills will be utilized.
  • Bonus skills: illustration, photography, retouching, AfterEffects animation skills, videography, HTML.
