Senior Copywriter
Weber Shandwick is seeking a Senior Copywriter to join our team in Chicago.
Alongside a team that will include AD support, this Senior Copywriter will spend most of their time working toward a variety of creative objectives supporting multiple brands across a single, large-scale account.
Whether driving a big project like a multi-channel campaign or handling a real-time opp to react to news, we need a nimble copywriter who consistently delivers exciting, culture-first ideas and writing across just about any platform. If there’s a medium that gets people engaged in our brands’ stories, we play in that space. We look for well-rounded, immersive creators who can tell a great story.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Concept ideas anchored in the trends, stories, and consumer passions that are being shared in media and across social feeds
- Help drive overall creative direction for key client projects.
- Craft overall messaging direction and maintaining consistency.
- Write short- and long-form copy including concept manifesto, digital/social copy, video script, pitches and a range of campaign support material.
- Mentor junior writers.
- Take direction and work collaboratively with colleagues across teams.
- Help develop long-term creative plans and recommendations for client objectives.
- Join client meetings, brainstorms and planning sessions for ongoing projects.
- Build and maintain strong rapport with creative team colleagues, client leads and project managers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of copywriting experience in a related agency or department (advertising, digital, social media, publishing/content or public relations).
- Must have a portfolio (share anything that conveys the way you think or approach assignments, even if it was never produced).
- Be curious, self-motivated, hard-working, well-organized, thick skinned and resilient to ever-changing timelines, requests, and deliverables.
- Advanced knowledge of brand development, marketing/advertising, and the creative process.

NYC Salary range: $80,000 – $110,000

Weber Shandwick Atlanta has an exciting opportunity for an Associate, Earned Media to join our Consumer team. We are looking for a collaborative self-starter with the ability to create storytelling narratives with proven experience garnering earned attention. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong understanding of how the marketing communications function impacts a client’s business and how the client’s business makes news.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, pitching story ideas, and securing media coverage for the company or clients
- Write and edit press releases, media kits, and other communication materials, ensuring they align with brand messaging
- Track media coverage, analyze press mentions, and report on the effectiveness of media campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
- Support the strategic development of public relations and media relations plans and campaigns
- Research media topics, cultural trends, digital influencers, and reporters in support of new assignments and projects
- Interact with senior management and input feedback into tactics and strategies
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of communications experience, preferably in an agency environment
- Strong consumer media relations skills and relationships at the national, regional and trade/vertical level
- Excellent communication/presentation skills; verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills
- Desire to continuously learn new skills and knowledge, and willingness to always share skills and knowledge with team members as well as clients
- BA or BS in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
- Capable of working independently and in a dynamic, high energy, fast paced team-oriented atmosphere

Project Manager

Weber Shandwick is currently seeking a dedicated Project Manager, Integrated Project Management, to join our winning team in Chicago! In this role you will work closely with an integrated team across account, creative, influencer, social, analytics and strategy, as well as report to a Director of Project Management, to lead projects on a growing portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage multiple small to medium-scale integrated campaigns or initiatives, collaborating with internal stakeholders, coordinating with various partners and managing vendors
- Demonstrate understanding the full project lifecycle from client brief to final delivery
- Own and manage project lifecycle with extended team, inclusive of scoping deliverables, resource management, hour estimates, timeline development, status reports or hot sheets, and project requirements/processes
- Partner with creative, strategy, account management and other internal teams to help drive best-in-class solutions, deliver award winning results and mitigate risk and/or potential overservice
- Demonstrate strong, professional work ethic and financial acumen
- Manage financial performance of accounts including scopes, burn report summaries and forecasting
- Lead internal team members on day-to-day project milestones and deliverables
- Support in educating the team on roles and responsibilities, process and templates
Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years of project management experience, preferably in an agency setting
- Strong financial management skills, including scoping, burn report tracking, resource allocation across project tasks
- Demonstrated success in managing different types of programs and deliverables, such as strategic planning, creative ideation, events, social and/or digital content and vendor/partner management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members across multiple levels and seniority
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and dedicated to driving clarity in complex projects
- Motivated and curious, a true team player eager to jump in, problem solve and lead teams to success
- Proficient in Microsoft Project/Smartsheet, Excel, and PowerPoint, and excited by learning new tools to drive efficiencies

What you’ll do all day:

- Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering clear and precise work is a must
- Technical: Know Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Familiarity with platforms like CreatorIQ, Adobe Creative Suite, a plus
- Dynamic: Ability to work in a fast-paced agency environment
