We Are Seeking:
We’re looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Senior Vice President to join our Consumer Practice, working across a portfolio of household Consumer brands. You will spearhead high profile, award-worthy, integrated influencer and earned media campaigns for one of our top consumer clients.
Working in a dynamic agency-client model, you will be the strategic connector that brings integrated activations to market. You will be responsible for managing client and inter-agency relationships, playing a critical role in determining the future and long-term success of not only this business, but also our Consumer Practice. You will be responsible for all aspects of a client relationship and an integrated team and will supervise big pieces of business with multiple work streams and team members.
Responsibilities include recommending programs and activities coordinating with client’s goals, effectively delegating projects, offering counsel to team members and allocating agency resources to match client budgets. You will also be a key leader of business development, strategic program planning, analytics, media relations and the development and execution of creative concepts. Ideally, you will have global agency experience, and have executed large scale campaigns.

The right person for this role has:
- 12+ years of experience in PR inclusive of agency experience working on integrated communications campaigns, specifically earned media and influencer-led assignments
- Deep knowledge of the consumer products space, with experience in – and passion for – personal care, consumer health, beauty and lifestyle brands
- Proven track record of proactively identifying and delivering strategic opportunities that unlock account growth beyond the current or ‘expected’ remit
- Strong familiarity and expertise related to social, news and influencer channels that can further fuel earned-driven communications
- Exceptional client service track record with ability to counsel and interact effectively with senior management at client organizations
- Experience managing a large CPG account (over $1 million in billings) and the keen organizational skills needed to juggle multiple client needs at once
- Ability to efficiently manage cross-office teams that span multiple cities and countries with integrated account teams preferred
- Ability to be both strategic and hands-on, to flex with clients’ needs
- Success leading teams and developing talent
- An entrepreneurial spirit, strong leadership qualities, and a collaborative attitude
- A willingness to challenge how things have always been done, in a desire to continuously improve
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient skills in MSOffice (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)

NYC Salary range: $160,000 – $225,000

The Weber Shandwick New York office is currently seeking a Vice President to support several clients in our growing Financial Services portfolio within our Enterprise practice. The ideal candidate will have deep subject matter expertise in working in consumer finance sub-sectors such as payments, fintech, crypto, retail banking, personal finance, retirement and investing.
You will have the opportunity to drive a broad range of consumer and B2B2C campaigns across a variety of clients, while leading a team of practitioners and collaborating with Weber Shandwick’s network to develop strategic and creative client work. You will spearhead high profile, award-worthy, earned-driven integrated activations. You will work with high profile celebrity talent, influencers and events. You will be responsible for managing client and inter-agency relationships, playing a critical role in determining the future and long-term success of our practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of a client relationship and fast-moving account team. You will supervise big pieces of business with multiple work streams and team members.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Develop and grow positive relationships with clients, maintaining the company’s reputation in terms of delivery and quality
- Provide strategic counsel to clients, assess problems and define logical and effective solutions for clients
- Lead the delivery of quick-turn, high-profile project assignments across national and local markets
- Be a project management wiz. Communicate expectations and goals to the team on an ongoing basis, helping to keep the team motivated by communicating clear tasks and actions
- Work successfully with partner agencies as part of a client integrated agency team, both internally at WS and externally
- Work effectively with finance colleagues to deliver accurate estimates for client projects or new business work. The ideal candidate will lead monthly budget tracking, and compile and edit SOW’s that adhere to a full picture view of a project’s scope
- Write well-structured, persuasive content and help train other team colleagues to do the same
- Contribute innovative ideas for the client and new business work, inspiring ideation amongst team members
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years public relations experience, financial services client experience required
- Agency experience (preferred)
- Experience working in banking, insurance, retirement services, payments, credit cards, fintech and/or consumer finance with deep understanding of the competitive landscape, product differentiation and the relevant media landscape
- You are both a creative and a strategic thinker, and a natural team leader who operates quickly
- Needs to have a track record in client service to senior level clients
- Strategic media relations knowledge and strong relationships with relevant reporter beats across business financial and consumer press
- BA or BS in Communications or related degree

The Account Director will have proven leadership and client service skills, and experience managing integrated global communications programs. The candidate will be the day-to-day contact for clients, manage communications across a cross-functional agency team as well as client team, and support flawless execution in the most efficient and productive way. They will display personal ownership and accountability for client engagement, with the ability to cultivate and nurture long-term partnerships and client satisfaction.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain daily client contact, serving as a trusted resource and advisor
- Facilitate cross-functional team integration (strategy, creative, integrated media specialists, etc.) to deliver on client plans
- Act as effective, two-way translator between clients and teams, actively counseling development of work in the best interest of all parties
- Proactively support and suggest improvements and new ideas to exceed client expectations by leveraging industry knowledge and experience
- Manage workstreams with a focus on running data and regulatory milestones and overseeing junior staff
- Have ownership of client financials and profitability
- Coordinate integration with other agency partners
- Successfully navigate conflicts across internal stakeholders, clients and agency partners
- Manage ongoing team resourcing/staffing to ensure successful delivery of work product
- Actively participate in agency development and assist with new business
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 6-8 years of relevant global healthcare communications agency experience
- Ability to translate client needs into workable plans/projects
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Experience managing high-performing teams; mentoring team members
- Confident presenter and persuasive speaker
- Financial acumen in the areas of budgeting, billing and staffing
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree

Key Responsibilities

- Technical Understanding: Solid grasp of web and mobile technologies, system architecture considerations, and digital product lifecycle management.
