What we’re looking for: Weber Shandwick is seeking an entrepreneurial and enthusiastic Senior Vice President of Digital Content Strategy to join our team. The role requires an experienced digital and social strategist who will lead core components of social content strategy-related workstreams and serve as a daily client contact. The role has a high degree of autonomy to lead, develop, and implement strategies across multiple assignments. This candidate is responsible for overseeing daily operations and publishing on the client’s corporate social media channels, while also managing the employee social advocacy program. A key part of this role is supporting multiple communications leads in ensuring excellence in executive social media efforts, providing strategic guidance, ideation, content creation, and platform training. Responsibilities  

  • Serve as the digital content strategy lead for a major automotive client.  
  • Become an expert on our client’s business and how their communications objectives help achieve business goals.  
  • Develop and implement comprehensive, actionable social media strategies that align with the client’s communication objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external agency teams to develop and implement integrated media strategy, media planning and program execution  
  • Works autonomously on POVs and thought leadership pieces for internal and external communications (clients and industry) 
  • Oversee daily operations and content for client’s corporate social media channels, ensuring timely and consistent publishing
  • Approve and manage publishing plans and content, maintaining high standards of quality and alignment with client’s brand voice
  • Manage and create content for the client employee social advocacy program, adapting internal stories and external content for social sharing to drive employee engagement
  • Analyze and optimize advocacy performance, providing insights and recommendations to enhance program effectiveness
  • Provide strategic social media support to communications leads, including content creation and platform training for executives
  • Ensure excellence in executive social media by aligning efforts with client’s communication goals and enhancing executive presence across social platforms
  • Identify and develop proactive content ideas that align with current social media trends, ensuring the client’s corporate and internal social channels remain relevant and engaging
  • Collaborate with internal teams and the agency to generate innovative content that drives brand engagement and reflects client’s commitment to staying ahead of social media trends

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications  

  • At least 10 years’ experience in social media management, employee advocacy, and executive social media support, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful strategies and leading and managing social and digital programs.
  • Possess expert-level proficiency in social media platforms and inherent curiosity about emerging platforms. Should be willing to experiment with cutting-edge platforms and techniques and explain the “why this matters” to client at a strategic level.  
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working across departments to achieve strategic alignment and cohesive messaging.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to creating high-quality, engaging content.
  • Have experience leveraging social media analytics and working with an analytics team to measure campaign ROI and generate insights that inform future recommendations and decisions.

Senior Manager – INTEGRATED MEDIA

 

POSTION PROFILE

Our Montréal office is looking for a bilingual Senior Manager – Integrated Media, who is a seasoned public and media relations consultant responsible for providing strategic client counsel around media and influencer engagement, helping plan media events, leading announcement activations, securing media stories and guiding and mentoring an internal team. The ideal candidate will have experience that encompasses media relations, influencer engagement, event planning, program execution, leadership of the inter-agency marketing mix as well as client counseling.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop strong client relationships and provide counsel/strategic direction related to media/influencer relations programs and related events
  • Proactively bring media-related ideas and points of view to clients to assert agency leadership and push the boundaries of traditional media relations  
  • Develop strong media and influencer relationships that can pay off with media and social coverage
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and integrated agency team colleagues to integrate media relations efforts into campaigns 
  • Work directly with clients to resolve problems 
  • Oversee client activations and activation teams 
  • Counsel, coach and develop junior staff 
  • Lead logistics planning for media and other influencer events
  • Support the development of KPIs to maximize media relations impact 
  • Develop program staffing plans and budgets and work directly with clients and finance team to address related deliverables and questions

CORE REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrate end-to-end expertise in media relations and event planning, including: 
    • Strong existing media and influencer relationships
    • Working knowledge of and comfort executing new media forms
    • Ability to develop new media and influencer relations and turn those relationships into coverage
    • Drafting media materials, including pitches and press releases
    • Optimizing programs in real time to maximize success based on preliminary results
    • Amplification of strategies, including paid, owned and earned
  • Demonstrated expertise in media relations and event/logistics planning 
  • Ability to plan, organize, monitor and control projects and programs, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and creative resources 
  • Ability to counsel clients on media relations activities and present plans in a convincing manner
  • Strong team leadership abilities 

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Public relations experience of approximately 6-7 years
  • University degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
  • Ability to work effectively with integrated agency teams and diverse range of internal stakeholders 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in French and English
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, collaboration and problem-solving skills
