Weber Shandwick Detroit is seeking an intern that is a passionate creator; a storyteller and digital media artist that is ready to better their craft by working on projects for one of our biggest clients.

Responsibilities: 

  • Scour social media for content that is timely and compelling to our clients’ needs
  • Research popular social creators and their content-creation techniques
  • Pitch ideas that are fresh, exciting and aligned with our client goals and audience needs
  • Write scripts / create content plans for bringing these ideas to life
  • Collaborate with our team to create the content, which can include (but is not limited to): shooting, to being on-screen, to editing, and everything in-between
  • Stick with projects as they move through the feedback pipeline and on to a final cut

Qualifications:

  • You remain consistently up to date on the broad spectrum of the social media zeitgeist
  • You have a passion for storytelling, and expressing ideas through a variety of media outlets
  • You have experience pitching, shooting, and editing video, and have a passion for continuing to build this skillset
  • You have experience shooting on a phone and editing on professional editing software (such as Premiere Pro)
  • You are comfortable in a collaborative, positive environment, where multiple projects will be happening in concert
  • BONUS (but not required): you either have direct experience (or you wish to learn) more advanced tools, such as DSLR cameras, field audio recording equipment, and Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, and After Effects

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate must be a college graduate by the start of the internship or have demonstrated transferrable skills
  • Must be available to work 40 hours a week starting September 2024

Junior Analyst

We Are Seeking:

We are seeking a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mind to help pulling and analyzing data, and extracting deep insights using the systems and tools we are designing in-house. You will be able to leverage data to uncover insights and tell compelling stories.  The Junior Analyst will focus on delivering impactful analytics insights and research that is core to the marketing and communications of our clients.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Contributing to complex multi-continental engagements by gathering and analyzing a large set data set
  • Analyzing and synthesizing many diverse data points, methodologies and perspectives to create differentiated analyses for our clients
  • Leveraging a variety of descriptive and inferential statistical methods to analyze data from multiple sources
  • Collaborating closely with project leads and cross-functional teams to infuse all aspects of the work with data-driven insights and measurement
  • Utilizing tools and platforms designed to automate and accelerate data collection, integration and analysis. Examples: Google Analytics, Domo, Google Data Studio, Tableau, etc.
  • Generating insightful reports

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with major in business or STEM preferred
  • 1-3 years of full-time experience; prior marketing analytics or consulting experience is a plus
  • Strong interest and capacity to translate data and research into strategic insights and recommendations
  • Passion for working with data and deriving insights to answer client business questions.
  • Ability to manipulate and leverage large scale data leveraging tools including but not limited to Tableau, Google Data Studio, Domo, Excel, etc.
  • Experience with social listening tools such as Quid, Talkwalker, Brandwatch, and Trendkite is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in an integrated team setting.
  • Experience with PowerPoint
  • Strong communication (written and presentation) skills.

Senior Associate, Media Relations

SENIOR ASSOCIATE – MEDIA RELATIONS

Weber Shandwick is currently seeking a Senior Associate of Earned Media Strategy to join our Integrated Media team.

We’re looking for a team player to help us tell compelling stories for our clients through innovative and integrated earned, owned and paid media strategies. Do you love the thrill of the pitch, building relationships with media and influencers, and constantly immersing yourself in social media, culture and technology trends to drive impact for brands? With 2-3 years of experience, you’ll help us create campaigns that drive earned media coverage and activate influencer and social programs that generate meaningful and measurable results.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Help develop and execute innovative and award-winning integrated PR campaigns
  • Work with the Integrated Media team and client leads to support the development and execution of social media and influencer strategies and proposals
  • Identify and build relationships with media, influencers and content creators to bring our clients’ stories to life through trusted and relatable voices
  • Identify new outlets and platforms, and creative ways to propel earned-first storytelling for our clients
  • Monitor media outlets, understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect our clients, and analyze and distill meaningful insights from media coverage and social conversations
  • Monitor issues and help develop strategic messaging for clients’ issues and reputational risks
  • Develop and track meaningful KPIs to measure success of campaigns and return on investment for our clients
  • Participation in office-wide initiatives, seminars and meetings to further professional learning and development

Key Qualifications:

  • Approximately 2-3 years of experience, ideally in an agency, communications or marketing environment
  • Interest in corporate, financial services and B2B-focused brands
  • Digitally savvy, with a good understanding of the overall media and social media landscape
  • Proven ability to garner coverage and conversation on behalf of brands, organizations, companies or other institutions
  • Familiarity with media and/or influencer databases, journalist-led tools and resources
  • A working style that is self-motivated, well-organized and resilient to ever-changing timelines, requests and deliverables
  • Strong written, verbal communication, presentation, collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • A degree in communications or a related discipline

  • Must have a strong background in corporate communications
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of reputation management and a working knowledge of traditional and non-traditional media
  • Self-starter, resourceful and bring a passion for driving great results while building strong, productive relationships with clients and your team
  • Collaborative spirit, results driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work against deadlines
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, experience developing and delivering client presentations
  • Experience leading (and winning) new business efforts, including casting appropriate teams, driving deck and presentation development and seamlessly integrating strategy, creative and execution into a compelling proposal
  • A history of success in providing sound creative and strategic counsel to clients and building credibility with senior-level client contacts
  • Demonstrate the ability to think strategically, creatively and holistically about client programs
