Weber Shandwick Japanは、普段は多くのグローバル企業の広報や、ブランドコミュニケーションのコンサルティングを行っているパブリックリレーションズ(PR)エージェンシーです。もちろん、PRエージェンシーを名乗る以上、コミュニケーションのスペシャリスト育成には余念がありません。しかし社員だけにとどまらず学生の育成にも関わることで日本のマーケティングコミュニケーション業界を盛り上げていくのが、私たちの使命と責任だと考えています 

そのような思いから、この夏初めて、大学生・大学院生を対象としたキャリア教育プログラムCRAYONSを、2日間にわたって開催することになりました。 

プログラムでは、PRやコミュニケーションの基本からお伝えしますので、未学習の方も安心してご参加ください。様々な専門分野や国際的な視点を併せ持つWeber ShandwickならではのPRに関する知見を学ぶことができるほか、実践的なグループワークが体験できます。

We are excited to announce our upcoming 2 days Career Education Program “CRAYONS”, which will be held on August 30th (Fri) and September 2nd (Mon) at Weber Shandwick Japan office located in Tokyo. This program is specially designed for university and graduate school students who are eager to delve into the world of Public Relations and Marketing Communications, and to learn about career opportunities at a global public relations agency.

As a member of CRAYONS, you will: 

  • Participate in workshops to learn about the many areas of expertise across the agency: Creative, Digital/IT, Consumer, Corporate Communications, Healthcare – and more. 
  • Participate in group work to learn about how to create a successful client pitch.  
  • See how an idea comes to life through research, agency brainstorms and strategic planning. 
  • Gain organizational and communications skills that will help you navigate any future career. 

Requirements: 

  • University or Graduate School students who hold a Japan Permanent Resident or a Student visa. 
  • Nearly Fluent or Native Japanese, above business level of English. 
  • Interested in Public Relations and Marketing Communications.  
  • Passion for creative thinking, strategy and pushing the boundaries. 
  • Comfortable commuting to our Tokyo office. 

Notes: 

  • The number of applicants is approximately 15 people.  
  • Selection process: (1st stage) application review, (2nd stage) video interview    
  • We will stop accepting applications once all the places are taken. 
  • We do not offer any credits to students who attend this program. Each must cover their expenses, including commuting costs, liability and personal insurance. A bento box will be prepared for 2 days.

About The Opportunity:

Weber Shandwick is seeking a highly motivated Associate Director / Vice President to manage client accounts, media and inter-agency relationships. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in determining the future and long-term success of our Health practise.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the assigned client account and account team as it relates to earned media. You will supervise integral parts of the business both internally and externally and will be the primary stakeholder in helping clients achieve their goals. 

As AD/VP, you will be an integral contributor to our PR Consultant team, empowering them to find creative and out-of-the-box ways to help clients, and will also be able tackle business development, strategic programme planning, and the development of more creative endeavours. Internally, you will also be able to utilise your own experience to provide counsel to junior team members, delegate projects, and allocate agency resources to match client budgets. 

This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain hands-on experience being a key-player in driving fundamental and meaningful impact for our clients and society as a whole.  

 

What You Will Do: 

  • Develop a strong understanding of the client’s business and target audiences and work collaboratively with strategists and creative team members to deliver solutions that meet program objectives; 
  • Develop strategic messaging for clients and support creation of media plans and proposals that take an integrated approach to driving awareness with target audiences both domestically and globally; 
  • Foster meaningful relationships with health media reporters, and facilitate interviews and meetings for client-side spokespeople with media liaisons;

  • Serve as the client contact for crisis preparedness and response;

What You Will Need:  

  • Fluent Japanese (Ability to conduct business smoothly in Japanese); 
  • High Business English (Ability to conduct business at the basic level in English); 
  • Minimum of 6-7 years’ experience in the Healthcare Industry (Pharmaceutical / Medical / Medtech / Healthcare Communications & Marketing / Clinical Research / Pharmaceutical Sales / Cosmetics, etc.); 
  • Strong experience planning and executing corporate communications projects and product PR strategies and tactics;
