What We Are Seeking

We’re seeking a Coordinator, Resource Manager to join the Central Market within the growing team in our Chicago office. You will work closely with our existing resourcing team in Central and across other offices, project managers (PMs), account teams and office/practice leads to gather forward-looking staffing projections for the office and key accounts, enter the data (or work with PMs to ensure that it is entered) into a centralized tool, analyze forward-looking and backward-looking data, and possess a strong grasp on details associated with overall staffing & capacity management.

Ideally, you’re a self-starter, a multitasker, a problem solver, and a quick thinker with a level head and excellent people skills. This important role keeps you on your toes with varying day-to-day work that is fun and challenging.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Possess an analytical mindset and firm understanding of how to synthesize and apply learnings from backward-looking financial data provided by finance
  • Demonstrate an ability to provide intel and answer high-level questions about what people are working on and where/why they have time, ensure that the perceived workload of the group aligns with the data being reported
  • Identify and flag discrepancies, demonstrate an understanding of how to efficiently address them and remove hurdles
  • Prepare for and meaningfully contribute to (and in some cases drive) weekly resourcing meetings/discussions, identifying resourcing issues, facilitating discussions and sending action-oriented recaps that keep people on task
  • Assist with talent requests, recommending possible solutions (based on a deep understanding of needs, skillsets and bandwidth) and helping to facilitate conversations that will lead to strong utilization and the offset of unnecessary hires
  • Proactivity build positive relationships with all levels of talent, account teams & project managers – act as a widely-known, helpful resource and problem solver
  • Strategically match talent with needs, taking into account: requests/staff plans provided by account teams and project managers; a strong understanding of the skillsets, work product, style, development areas and interests of the talent
  • Shadow the resourcing team as they facilitate discussions as a result of staffing decisions as needed to keep things moving to resolution

Basic Qualifications

  • Two years of related professional experience
  • Proficient in MAC and PC, Microsoft Office
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Agency, recruiting and/or equivalent environment experience preferred
  • Utilize company tools to enter allocation data, track staffing trends and summarize results
  • Ability to manage a project from beginning to end
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities
  • A proven upbeat, enthusiastic and self-starter attitude with the ability to inspire and motivate a variety of team members
  • Possess strong sense of curiosity, solution-oriented mentality, and critical thinking skills as they will be central to general approach to day-to-day needs

Capital Markets Intern (Summer 2024)

Weber Shandwick’s Capital Markets team is seeking a summer intern to work across a range of financial clients. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), paid internship that will start in June and go through August. This role is hybrid out of our NYC office.

 

What you’ll do all day:

Weber Shandwick is looking for an Associate Creative Director with an earned and social first lens to lead and support the Creative leads in guiding, managing and refining the development of creative work from concept to production.

 

Your daily challenge is to help realize the creative vision as a manager, creator, and mentor on a variety of projects, ranging from large-scale integrated campaigns to channel-specific and socially driven content activations.

 

We’re seeking someone who is a highly conceptual problem solver, an experienced presenter of ideas, a builder of strong client relationships, and a key member of your working team, who will help us convey our clients’ messaging in ways that can breakthrough in culture.  

 

You’ll have the chance to create award-winning work for national and global brands through earned, social, and traditional media for clients across different health categories and therapeutic areas. In addition, you will focus on elevating the current creative work from the junior team, while pushing for the highest quality thinking, craft and execution for new projects as well as with new business.

 

You will work closely with the Chief Creative Officer and partner creative leads daily. You will also collaborate closely with the planning and media teams on ideas, and will manage the work with resourcing, project management, production, and client leaders to help propel the work forward and grow our business. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Develop and execute ideas with culture and news worthiness at its center.
  • Lead, manage and execute work with your CD, CCO and partner creative leads over a range of consumer and wellness brands.
  • Develop and deliver creative solutions that strengthen clients’ market distinction and leadership position.  
  • Generate innovative, world-class, and earned first creative thinking across channels.
  • Guide, teach and mentor junior members of the creative team in further developing ideas.  
  • Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.  
  • Lead concept, creative development, and presentation of new business development efforts  
  • Continually develop practices and processes to inspire, innovate, and harness new ways of thinking. 
  • Oversee projects from concept to completion in addition to being a hands-on creative
  • Create production-ready designs, campaigns and layouts
  • Establish the look/tone/feel for campaigns, social channels and new business needs
  • Convey ideas through well-designed presentations and idea boards
  • Translate content ideas into storyboards, shot lists, casting specs, set and wardrobe recommendations, etc.
  • Attend shoots to ensure all the visual components are captured
  • Review rough cuts and convey clear, actionable feedback to editors and producers
  • Incorporate feedback from Creative Directors, teammates and clients with precision and a positive attitude.

 

 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • A strong portfolio of work showcasing social and earned first thinking.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing, PR, creative development, campaign and brand development, digital marketing, and the creative process    
  • 5-7 years of experience with several years’ experience managing creative team members
  • Strong ability to provide clear creative direction and provide timely, helpful feedback to improve creative processes and to keep work on budget and schedule.  
  • Resilient mindset, a cheerful and positive attitude, and respect for others 
  • Ability to familiarize yourself quickly with the client’s brand standards.
  • Comfort with juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately with Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) as well as presentation tools such as PowerPoint
  • Must be self-motivated, hard-working, well-organized and deadline-driven
  • Knowledgeable about emerging media, trends and philosophies in design, technology, social media, storytelling and engagement
  • Strong presentation skills and communication abilities, both internal and client-facing  
  • Ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short and long-term needs. 
  • The ability to concept across a broad range of media, in a variety of tones and voices.
