Weber Shandwick Launches in Turkey, A Key Market for Multinational Client Partners
LONDON, 22 July, 2013 – Weber Shandwick has established a new operation in Istanbul, Turkey, and has hired Seda Yalcin to lead its business in this important growth market. Yalcin, who joins from Grayling, will be CEO of the operation and a member of the firm’s EMEA leadership team.
Yalcin has 10 years’ experience in public relations and public affairs, spanning Turkey and, at the EU level, in Brussels. She worked with FusionTel in Turkey, moved to Brussels for a role with the European Commission and then worked at the Interel public affairs consultancy.
In 2010 she returned to Turkey to take up a senior role with Grayling, first heading the public affairs practice and then taking on a broader agency leadership role. She has represented clients in consumer marketing, corporate communications and public affairs.
“I am thrilled to join the Weber Shandwick team. Turkey provides big business potential for Weber Shandwick with its growing economy and largely untapped opportunities in the public relations and public affairs sectors. We will soon establish Weber Shandwick as a leading consultancy in the Turkish market,” said Yalcin.
Weber Shandwick Launches in Kuwait
Weber Shandwick also launched in Kuwait, bringing the number of core Weber Shandwick offices in the Middle East to five (including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Egypt). The office will be led by General Manager Rosie Muhanna who has over 10 years’ experience in the communications industry following an earlier career as a creative in the US and then the Middle East. A firm believer in community service, Rosie carries out pro bono work for Human Rights Watch and a number of local centres devoted to special needs.
