Judith Harrison Honored at 18th Annual ADCOLOR Awards
At the 18th Annual ADCOLOR Awards, held in Los Angeles, CA, on November 17th, The Weber Shandwick Collective’s Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer Judith Harrison was named ADCOLOR DEI Executive of the Year. The category honors those who “not only inspire, facilitate and implement progressive change at their own company or organization, but [whose] innovation and determination influences the ways others integrate DEI into business models and corporate cultures.”
Since 2007, the ADCOLOR Awards have celebrated the achievements of diverse communities across the creative industries. Judith and the rest of this year’s winners were selected by a panel of more than 60 judges from a variety of industries, roles and backgrounds.
In accepting her award, Judith thanked “my Weber Shandwick colleagues without whom I could not do anything and who work with me every single day to create a more inclusive environment where people can be authentically and unapologetically who they are. To me, there is nothing more important in this world than opening doors and creating opportunities for underrepresented people to advance in the ways that they want to.”
She added, “I think there has never been a more important time to be loud and proud about the value of the work that we do and to have strategic intention about advancing it.”
Judith has worked at Weber Shandwick since 2006, rising to Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer in 2023. One of her signature achievements at the company has been “Time to Connect”, the employee gathering she initiated in the wake of George Floyd’s murder which evolved into a regular workplace ritual of dedicated time for employees to support one another during challenging times. The Harvard Business Review praised “Time to Connect” as “a powerful example of a simple way leaders can provide the kind of response and support employees are expecting from their companies.”
Congratulations to Judith on this well-deserved ADCOLOR honor!
