Weber Shandwick and Powell Tate partnered with KRC Research to conduct the first Civility in America: A Nationwide Study.
Conducted among 1,000 U.S. adults, the survey explores how civility is affecting Americans’ views and participation in social media, politics and media, as well as buying behaviors. Two-thirds of Americans (65 percent) say that our country has a major civility problem and place blame on the American public and political leaders. Because of this high level of incivility, Americans are tuning out of government and politics, news coverage, opinion pieces/editorials and social networking sites.
