Weber Shandwick is seeking a Vice President, Resource Management, to join our North American (NA) Agency Operations Team.

 

What We Are Seeking

We’re seeking a candidate to fill a Vice President, Resource Management role to oversee Resource Management for NA Creative and Strategy Capabilities.

You will work closely with capability leads, project managers, finance, account teams and office/practice leads, as well as other members of the RM team, to gather forward-looking staffing projections for the office, enter the data (or work with PMs to ensure that it is entered) into a centralized tool, analyze forward-looking and backward-looking data. Provide strategic and proactive recommendations for resource needs across all disciplines along the way. The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp on details associated with overall staffing & capacity management as it relates to skills, experience, capability nuances and career development for our talent here at Weber Shandwick. In addition to a geographical remit, this RM lead will also partner with capability leads to identify rotational strategies and skills mapping/assessment efforts, ensuring accounts are appropriately cast both for the business and for the career development and growth of the individuals at hand. Ideally, you’re a juggler, a problem solver, and a quick, strategic thinker with a level head and excellent people skills. This important role keeps you on your toes with varying day-to-day work that is both fun and challenging.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Supports Agency Operations lead and senior team members by motivating and directing junior team members, escalating issues upward as needed.
  • Supports account & client ops leads to standup teams following a new win or expanded work, leading or supporting depending on level of complexity and as directed by Agency Operations/RM capability leader
  • Meaningfully participates in discussions around shared best practices & consistent ways of working, carrying out implementation plans and directing more junior team members
  • Ensures excellence (for self and more junior team members) in implementation of plans and consistent ways of working
  • Supports in aspects of innovation and evolution strategy development, carrying out implementation plans and directing more junior team members
  • Excellent listener who can quickly and accurately synthesize information and articulate necessary next steps (for self or in order to drive team), escalating to or updating more senior leads as needed
  • Gathers, inputs and maintains data in the RM team tool, leading or overseeing depending on level of size & complexity of office/capability/practice
  • Builds reports and data for leadership, provides subsequent analysis and insight
  • Understands agency’s work, offerings & talent, guides more junior team in their education and connects employees appropriately
  • Contributes to materials development articulating agency’s RM approach, best practices, ways of working and tools
  • Runs regular staffing meetings, attended by account and PM leads; ensuring appropriate preparedness to move through agenda efficiently and with impactful results, leading or supporting depending on level of complexity
  • Experience with conflict management, supporting senior leaders in driving towards objective solutions
  • Can be trusted with sensitive, confidential information
  • Facilitates staffing discussions toward solutions and oversees more junior team members in doing the same, escalating highly sensitive or complex issues to function leader 
  • Solidifies strong relationships with colleagues and is called upon to be a problem solver, escalating highly sensitive or complex issues to function leader
  • Manages more junior team members and coaches diverse set of employees

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of related professional experience
  • Proficient in MAC and PC, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams
  • Agency, production, equivalent environment experience preferred
  • Ability to manage a project from beginning to end
  • Ability to manage more junior members of the RM team
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities
  • A proven upbeat, enthusiastic and self-starter attitude with the ability to inspire and motivate a variety of team members
  • Possess strong sense of curiosity, solution-oriented mentality and critical thinking skills as they will be central to general approach to day-to-day needs
  • Willingness to travel and work outside of normal business hours as necessary

 

 

NYC Salary range: $125,000 – $155,000

Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.

  • Provide hands-on consultancy, collaboration and support to clients and project teams in designing, staffing, and delivering analytics work. 

Engage Client Experience Leads 

  • Work closely with firm, regional, practice and other discipline leaders in identifying opportunities and reducing barriers to advancing the use and sophistication of analytics across all offices. 
  • Contribute to business development and growth (both new client and organic growth) through the use of analytics in proposal development, as well as by designing and selling specific analytics solutions to clients. 
  • Lead thought-leadership efforts around the use of analytics in communications and marketing, both inside and outside of Weber Shandwick. 
  • Contribute to the development of new analytics tools and techniques/methodology. 
  • Engage as an active participant in product development work with data science, data engineering and product management organization. 
  • Be the voice-of-the-customer as company seeks to break new analytic ground. 

Requirements 

Minimum Requirements 

  • 12-15 years of related professional experience within an agency, consulting or corporate setting 
  • Talent development experience and skill in building, leading, coaching, and motivating analyst teams 
  • Ability to derive relevant insights from diverse sources of data, both qualitative and quantitative, including published sources, syndicated data, and proprietary data, and then translating those insights into specific media strategies and recommendations 
  • Ability to design research and analyses to test specific hypothesis around optimal communications creative and channel mix 

Preferred Requirements 

  • Working knowledge of advanced statistics and data modeling techniques, including regression and classification techniques, as well as use of techniques and tools appropriate for analysis of both structured and unstructured data. 
  • Experience using media/marketing intelligence, social listening or other research tools such as: Brandwatch, GlobalWebIndex, NewsWhip, Meltwater, Cision, Quid, Affinio, Simmons/MRI and Comscore. 
  • Experience using desktop applications and software used for data/statistical analysis, manipulation and visualization including Tableau, SAS, SQL, MS Office Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Hands-on experience in managing data and data mining. 
  • Ability to develop frameworks for steering complex insight/analytics projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for thinking across channel and discipline to manage integrated engagements that are strategically rooted in our clients’ business and brought to life through creative earned, owned and paid activations. Job Summary  

Weber Shandwick is looking for a Senior Manager, Client Experience, to join our Tech and Corporate practices on the West Coast. The ideal candidate has experience with and a passion for B2B comms, including B2B technology, with strong project and campaign management skills including experience managing workstreams and clients spanning offices and time zones. In addition, the candidate will bring earned media expertise to lead and support workstreams that lean heavily on proactive, creative storytelling. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact, provide tactical counsel, manage workflows, lead projects, and anticipate needs of the client and team
  • Serve as a key day-to-day player in the fast growing West Coast and North America technology practice in addition to contributing to the strength of the West Coast and North America Corporate practice.
  • Lead client communications with supervision from manager and reliably represent agency to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Generate story ideas and topic angles, draft media relations materials, and pitch media to land earned coverage
  • Track status of account activities and take a lead role in proactively sharing updates with clients
  • Assist in account budgeting recommendations and ongoing tracking

Basic Qualifications: 

  • BA or BS in communications or related field 
  • 6-7 years of related communications experience

  • Exceptional judgment when working with team members, client contacts and partners
