Sr Project Manager/Operations (New Business)

Weber Shandwick is currently seeking a Sr Project Manager/Operations partner for the NA New Business Team who will work closely with New Business leadership and cross capability teams in account, creative, public relations, media and strategy, reporting into an SVP in our North America Agency Operations team. 

Responsibilities:
•    Project manage new business pitch process, from RFP to outcome  
•    Support the new business development team with implementation of standard operational processes and templates
•    Support Project Management leadership across NA, local office and client operations with procurement requirements throughout RFP stages
•    Partner with resource management team to staff team for new business pitch and expectations past new client onboarding
•    Partner with Project Management leadership on new business onboarding processes to ensure smooth transition from through transition completion
•    Champion best practices of PM support in New Business Process (e.g. resource identification, stakeholder Q&As, timeline management, pitch prep, etc.)
•    Partner with new business lead on commercial proposal inclusive of scope and staff plan development and coordination
•    Partner with business development leadership on proactive outreach engagement and processes
•    Coordinate with external vendors and payments as needed
•    Coordinate with creative, strategy, account management and other internal teams to help drive best-in-class solutions for medium and integrated projects/campaigns
•    Support Client Operations lead in operationalizing new business win and onboarding 
•    Set expectations at the beginning of a project: as any issues arise, find solutions without compromising quality
•    Serve as contact for commercial strategy team in development of cost proposal and incentives. 
•    Demonstrate strong, professional work ethic and financial acumen
•    Ability to escalate and provide resolve conflict opportunities with management 
•    Perform effectively and efficiency in a new business style environment with senior leaders across the globe

Requirements: 
•    4-6 years of Project Management experience, preferably in public relations, an agency or start up setting, experience in new business pitches preferred 
•    Ability to meet tight deadlines, paying close attention to detail and maintaining quality of work product
•    Adept at solving problems and resolving conflicts
•    Capable of mobilizing and motivating teams, anticipating needs and instilling confidence
•    Comfortable working independently, self-starter
•    Strong financial management skills, including scoping, burn report tracking, resource allocation across project tasks
•    Fluency and/or familiarity with different types of programs and deliverables, such as strategic planning, creative ideation, earned media, video development, social and editorial content, and partner management
•    Strong time management and multitasking skills; understanding of integrated relationships of projects when driving workstreams
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members across multiple levels
•    Strong organization and time management skills
•    Proficient in Microsoft Project/Smartsheet, Excel, and PowerPoint
•    Bachelor’s degree required

NYC Salary range: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00

Responsibilities: 

  • Spearhead high profile activations and campaigns for some of our top lifestyle and CPG clients. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses and target audiences, and working in close collaboration with our Creative, Insights and Client Experience teams, lead the creation and execution of integrated multi-platform campaigns that drive meaningful results 
  • Build social influencer strategies cross-functionally to align strategic efforts and priorities, and able to develop strategic outputs with little to no oversight. Collaborate closely with strategy, creative, paid and larger integrated agency teams to deliver program initiatives. 
  • Closely partner with social platform and digital SMEs to stay at the forefront of technology trends and emerging platforms to champion social and digital innovations and continuously further our offerings to break through social clutter and break through in earned media 
  • Provide expert counsel to clients and colleagues on social/digital/influencer best practices 
  • Serve as trusted voice on pop-culture, social trends and other cultural nuances for clients  
  • Lead end-to-end influencer procurement process from influencer recommendations to negotiations to servicing the partnerships. 
  • Play a lead role in the agency’s Influencer center of excellence, which develops and manages key relationships with talent agencies and content creators, and institutionalizes a set of best-in-class tools and processes for identification, contract negotiation, content planning, measurement and ROI analysis 
  • Collaborate effectively with inter-agency teams to develop holistic plans and fully integrated strategies for our clients 
  • Lead a high-performing team; mentor and develop junior team members 

Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years of experience, preferably within an agency environment 
  • Strong understanding of the overall media and social landscape, with an emphasis on digital  experience 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to develop relationships with influencers, creators, agencies, and other partners. 
  • Passion for tracking and understanding new trends in culture  
  • Deep expertise in managing influencer programs 
  • Strong knowledge of social platforms, including paid amplification and campaign optimization 
  • Strong understanding of marketing funnel analytics & KPIs 
  • Familiarity with a broad set of social, media and influencer analytics tools 
  • Detail-oriented, multi-tasker with excellent time-management skills 
  • Strong written, verbal communication, negotiation and presentation skills 
  • Experience leading a team is an asset

Be ready to lead at any moment: working with your leads, you will learn to “step up to the plate” and lead effectively in the client’s and agency’s best interests while also helping to cultivate, mentor and coach mid to junior staff members on the influencer team.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years public relations experience, financial services client experience required
  • Agency experience (preferred)
  • Experience working in payments, credit cards, fintech and/or consumer finance with deep understanding of the competitive landscape, product differentiation and the relevant media landscape
  • You are both a creative and a strategic thinker, and a natural team leader who operates quickly
  • Needs to have a track record in client service to senior level clients
  • Strategic media relations knowledge and strong relationships with relevant reporter beats across business financial and consumer press
  • BA or BS in Communications or related degree
