The Role

You will be responsible for resourcing all creative, production and design briefs that are delivered from the London office. You will work closely with Project Management, Creative Directors and Heads of Departments on a daily / weekly basis to ensure optimal resourcing against client’s needs, whilst being mindful of scope and requirements. You will have a clear understanding of which skillsets are right for what briefs, that help us get to brilliant work efficiently. The Resource Manager will be systems and process driven, with up-to-date knowledge of who is working on what and where there is available capacity.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Manage / Run weekly meetings with the PM team to ensure the correct casting of briefs and to update the team on status / workflow
  • Working daily with the Project Management team to ensure the right resource is assigned to projects and deadlines are being met.
  • Help integrate resourcing software into our ways of working and be able to pull live data of how projects are tracking and show utilisation rates.
  • Manage all freelance requests and paperwork, ensuring smooth sign-off and that compliance is followed.
  • Work closely with Creative Operations to build a black book of brilliant go to talent that we can utilise if a brief requires.
  • Be a champion of our internal creative development process, attending kick off meetings and understanding the brief and resource requirements.
  • Partnering with department heads to the correct casting of briefs and overall morale of the different teams.

Ideal experience required:

  • A clear understanding of Earned Media and the specialisms required to get to great work.
  • Experience of managing and mentoring a team of designers
  • Great communication skills, showcasing the ability to collaborate with colleagues across the design team and the wider agency to bring ideas to life in brilliantly designed campaigns
  • Strong presentation skills whilst being able to clearly understand and process internal feedback in a collaborative fashion
  • Ability to work under pressure and proactively manage time, meeting deadlines and plan and prioritise workload to ensure all tasks are completed in line with agreed deadlines
  • Impeccable attention to detail and an eye for the latest trend or direction in presentation design

What’s happening?

Weber Shandwick is excited to be seeking a Senior Associate to join our Corporate Enterprise practice with a focus on Public Affairs. Working across a portfolio of both Public Affairs and Corporate Communications accounts, you will be delivering campaigns that help our clients to navigate an unprecedented time of political change and uncertainty whilst creating strategically focused, imaginative, communications solutions as they build and protect their reputations.

What will you be doing?

  • Policy and stakeholder research, and drafting analysis for our clients
  • Development of written copy and media materials such as client briefings, press releases, media pitches and digital content
  • Managing and delivering political engagement programmes
  • Drafting briefings for politicians and other stakeholders
  • Managing outreach to the political and business media as part of integrated campaigns
  • Building your network of political and business contacts
  • Media relations, including pitching to journalists
  • Managing political and stakeholder events
  • Working with polling companies, academics and other research organisations

Who are you?

  • Previous experience working in Public Affairs, either within agency or in-house
  • Knowledge and awareness of developments in the public and national media debate on issues concerned with corporate governance and reputation
  • An analytical mind with an ability to cut through information and find what really matters to clients, political stakeholders and media
  • An excellent communicator with exceptional writing skills
  • Good organisational and project management skills

Even better if:

  • Campaign experience, either for a political party or campaigning organisation
  • Experience working in both Public Affairs and Corporate PR, either at an agency or in-house

Who are you?

Ideally you are already operating at Account Manager level and have strong foundations in the world of PR. You are a positive energy within a team and are someone for the junior members of the practice to look up to and mirror your work ethic. You’ll need:

  • Experience working with national, high profile brands
  • Great media contacts across a range of platforms beyond traditional publications
  • Experience of managing junior team members
  • Social media and/or digital experience – and be excited to explore the ample opportunities to develop these areas of the business

  • Strong communications and client-handling skills and meticulous attention to detail

What will you be doing?
