The Corporate practice at Weber Shandwick Boston has an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join our team. As a crucial supporting role on client work, this individual will work closely with multiple cross-channel marketing and PR teams within the Boston office and across the nation to assist in the development, execution and measurement of local and national campaigns on behalf of our clients. We’re looking for an individual with the confidence to actively participate in client and team projects, but also the motivation to own solo projects with an intuition of when to reach out for collaboration.
Job description:
- Drafting public relations action plans, goals, media targets and pitch angles
- Persuasively pitching media and securing high-profile coverage for clients
- Staying abreast of current industry news and trends, and ideating creative media, thought leadership and social activations based on your observations; understanding client objectives and priorities to help shape activations
- Developing and managing timelines and weekly action plans to ensure all deadlines on client programs are met
- Managing editorial calendars, awards, and speaking opportunity programs on behalf of your account teams, including vetting opportunities, crafting applications, and liaising with coordinators
- Anticipating and proactively offering solutions to senior team leadership for executional issues specific to assigned programs
- Developing written media and communications materials – from media pitches to digital content
- Researching media topics, trends, important issues, and reporters in support of new assignments and projects
- Delving into sometimes complex and technical topics to build a deep understanding of clients’ business, industry and points of view
- Assisting in client communications, including developing and coordinating routine account management materials such as timelines, activity reports, client documentation and project management support
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of professional experience in an agency or similar setting
- Experience and interest in working with corporate clients across industries
- Excellent communication/presentation skills; verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills
- Ability to multi-task effectively and work within tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

What we’re looking for: Weber Shandwick is seeking an entrepreneurial and enthusiastic Senior Vice President of Digital Content Strategy to join our team. The role requires an experienced digital and social strategist who will lead core components of social content strategy-related workstreams and serve as a daily client contact. The role has a high degree of autonomy to lead, develop, and implement strategies across multiple assignments. This candidate is responsible for overseeing daily operations and publishing on the client’s corporate social media channels, while also managing the employee social advocacy program. Responsibilities
- Serve as the digital content strategy lead for a major automotive client.
- Become an expert on our client’s business and how their communications objectives help achieve business goals.
- Develop and implement comprehensive, actionable social media strategies that align with the client’s communication objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external agency teams to develop and implement integrated media strategy, media planning and program execution
- Works autonomously on POVs and thought leadership pieces for internal and external communications (clients and industry)
- Oversee daily operations and content for client’s corporate social media channels, ensuring timely and consistent publishing
- Approve and manage publishing plans and content, maintaining high standards of quality and alignment with client’s brand voice
- Manage and create content for the client employee social advocacy program, adapting internal stories and external content for social sharing to drive employee engagement
- Analyze and optimize advocacy performance, providing insights and recommendations to enhance program effectiveness
- Provide strategic social media support to communications leads, including content creation and platform training for executives

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- At least 10 years’ experience in social media management, employee advocacy, and executive social media support, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful strategies and leading and managing social and digital programs.
- Possess expert-level proficiency in social media platforms and inherent curiosity about emerging platforms. Should be willing to experiment with cutting-edge platforms and techniques and explain the “why this matters” to client at a strategic level.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working across departments to achieve strategic alignment and cohesive messaging.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to creating high-quality, engaging content.
- Have experience leveraging social media analytics and working with an analytics team to measure campaign ROI and generate insights that inform future recommendations and decisions.
