Role Overview
We are seeking an ambitious Account Director with a solid background in healthcare communications, and the ability to stretch in corporate communications as needed. You will lead pan-European and global communications programs for international healthcare and corporate clients, partnering closely with senior stakeholders to deliver impactful strategies and campaigns from our Geneva office. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of over 30 experts in integrated media, content, analytics, and strategy.
What will you be doing?
- Act as the senior client contact, providing strategic counsel and managing relationships across key accounts.
- Lead the development and execution of communications strategies and plans tailored to complex, multi-market needs.
- Drive organic growth by proactively identifying opportunities within existing accounts and supporting new business development efforts.
- Manage and mentor account teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages high performance.
- Oversee budgets, ensuring efficient and effective allocation of resources to deliver exceptional client work.
- Apply insight-led thinking to shape messaging frameworks, campaigns, and channel strategies, integrating traditional, digital, and social media.
Who are you?
- Demonstrated success as an Account Director (or equivalent senior role) in a communications agency or in-house, preferably within a pharma/healthcare environment, with experience leading pan-European or global programs.
- Solid understanding of the healthcare sector, with the ability to translate complex topics into compelling communications.
- A strategic and analytical mindset with a knack for spotting opportunities and anticipating client needs.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
- A collaborative leader and team player who inspires others and contributes positively to agency culture.
- Swiss national or EU passport holder with the right to work in Switzerland – international relocation is not offered.

About The Role:
Our Vice Presidents are strategic partners and trusted advisors to our clients. They help them address business imperatives or issues with the right communications solutions. Our VPs champion a superlative client experience by leading a dynamic, integrated team to develop breakthrough ideas, innovative programs and executional excellence. They advocate the agency’s full breadth of capabilities and expertise across today’s digitally led media landscape. Our VPs also lead business development activities with existing and new clients and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, nurture and expand client relationships, serving as a trusted resource and advisor
- Lead the development of strategies as well as cross-community implementation activities for PR and communication programs for client brands and projects
- Drive development of tactical plans, translating strategies into tactics; ensure team deliverables align with strategies
- Own responsibilities for executional leadership of multiple client programs, budgets, timeline and plans
- Lead the production of high quality, client-ready work, including but not limited to project strategies and plans, communications proposals, media and influencer engagement tactics, press releases, backgrounders, feature articles, reports, digital and social media content, etc.
- Keep apprised of clients’ brands, products, services, and market and industry developments – their key issues, competitive situation and industry trends
- Facilitate cross-functional team integration by working closely with team members from a variety of functional groups – client experience, creative, data & analytics, planning etc.
- Own responsibilities for executional leadership of multiple client programs, budgets, timeline and plans
- Manage ongoing team resourcing to ensure successful delivery of client work
- Anticipate and proactively offer solutions to senior team leadership for executional issues specific to assigned programs
- Manage the development of new business proposals and presentations
- Build and own productive relationships with multiple client stakeholders, interagency teams, clients’ business partner organizations and a diverse array of agency colleagues
- Demonstrate financial acumen in the areas of budgeting, billing and staffing
- Mentor and train junior team members
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years professional experience of the communication and integrated marketing role in consumer technology/ smartphone/smart hardware, mobile internet (preferably within a PR agency environment).
- Fluency in English is essential; Chinese language skills would be advantageous.
- Proven success in terms of both team management and business growth.
- Seasoned strategic media relations experience and contacts
- Excellent writer and communicator
- Strategic thinking and planning skills with the ability to solve business problems through innovative communications solutions
- Strong communication skills and organizational skills to handle business in sophisticated environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support account leads to manage client relationships on a day-to-day basis and implement local and regional communication strategies and program activities in conjunction with team members
- Monitor and track client, competitor, industry and cultural news and prepare coverage reports
- Provide media relations support – conducting research, building target media lists, drafting media materials, pitching to journalists, and managing media relationships and opportunities
- Demonstrate ability to develop strategies/creative platforms and concepts that simultaneously leverage traditional and new media for our clients
- Prepare timely team and client updates on all stages of project processes; prepare accurate and thorough conference call or client meeting recaps
- Assist and contribute to the development of long-term strategic clients plans and program recommendations, developing budgets, generating recommendations, and creating presentations
- Identify opportunities for agency/team learning and develop tools/suggestions to expand agency knowledge and understanding of digital communications
- Execute social networking, media campaigns and blogger outreach
- Proactively generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure client program success
- Anticipate and proactively offer solutions to senior team leadership on executional issues specific to assigned programs
PERSON PROFILE
- Minimum 0-2 years of PR experience or relevant industry experience, preferably at a PR agency or in-house communications team
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing or related field
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Dedication to details and sense of responsibilities
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to work under tight timelines
