POSITION PROFILE 
 
We are currently seeking a Senior Manager to join our Social Media team in Toronto. We are looking for a collaborative, self-starter with deep expertise in social platforms and influencer marketing, who has the proven ability to create compelling storytelling narratives and bring them to life through creative digital strategies. We are looking for a team player who has their finger on the pulse of online culture, as well as the latest technology, trends and opportunities in the social and digital world. 

With 5-7 years of experience, our ideal candidate is a thinker and doer, ready to jump in the deep end and support the team on everything from planning and managing complex social media and influencer campaigns, compiling and analyzing reports to actively participating in creative brainstorms. Candidates should have a foundational understanding of the intersection of paid, owned and earned social in brand and PR campaign orchestration. 

 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
 

  • Understanding and applying best-in-class social (organic and paid) practices and platform capabilities 
  • Working with the larger Integrated Media team and client leads to support and lead the development of social media and influencer strategies and proposals 
  • Managing always-on social accounts, including creating and managing social media content calendars and execution 
  • Conducting landscape and social listening research to identify content, creative and strategic opportunities 
  • Overseeing social content development including working with the in-house content team 
  • Developing and leading end-to-end social-first influencer campaigns 
  • Creating and presenting reports to track campaign performance and provide insights that inform the next planning cycle 
  • Utilizing social listening tools to conduct audits and develop reports and campaign monitors 
  • Providing platform-specific counsel related to preventing, mitigating and managing issues and crisis-related scenarios 
  • Assisting in digital education and training programs for the wider agency 
  • Educating agency on best practices in the social media and digital space, proactively sharing knowledge and updates 
  • Assisting with new business proposals 

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • 5-7 years related professional experience 
  • Strong understanding of the social media, digital marketing and influencer landscape 
  • Agency experience a plus 
  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset 
  • Strong written, verbal communication, presentation, collaboration and problem-solving skills 
  • Experience with social analytics and monitoring tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Khoros, Sprout, etc. 
  • Experience preferred with influencer management tools, such as Dovetale, Traackr,  Tagger or CreatorIQ 
  • Experience preferred with social listening tools, such as Talkwalker, Brandwatch, Metlwater or other widely adopted services 
  • Experience preferred in setting up paid campaigns on major platforms (Meta and TikTok)  
  • Experience with all major social platform analytics (organic and paid)  
  • A BA or BS, or equivalent degree in communications, digital marketing, or a related discipline preferred

Proven ability to build, speak and grow relationships with change agents and cultural makers (celebrities, influencers, artists, thought leaders) directly or via their agents. You must be open to a public-facing role; willingness to speak publicly about influencer trends when opportunities present itself to the WS Influencer Team. Use data driven insights to build strong strategies and is immersed and on top of trends (reading e-marketer, ad week, Next Atlas etc.

BE READY TO LEAD AT ANY MOMENT Working with your leads, you will learn to “step up to the plate” and lead effectively in the client’s and agency’s best interests while also helping to cultivate, mentor and coach mid to junior staff members on the influencer team. “

The Role.

We are looking for an experienced Influencer Director to lead the talent-shaped charge across our existing accounts; and drive the development of The Weber Shandwick Collective’s wider influencer proposition. You’ll have the opportunity to help build and mould a strategically important new team and spearhead its short, medium and long-term success.

Your responsibilities.

  • Lead the definition of That Lot’s Influencer proposition, working alongside senior management to deliver
  • Developing a go to market strategy for our influencer product
  • Ensuring commercial accountability and growth of the department
  • Being a rep for the agency at relevant events
  • Understanding the cultural and creator landscape and emerging trends
  • Creating and implementing influencer strategies that are in line with broader social campaign objectives
  • Support junior team members to identify and engage influencers aligned to strategic direction
  • Handle all influencer partnerships, contract negotiations, content and feedback provision
  • Guide junior team members on the development and presentation of post campaign performance reports
  • Work with cross-functional teams, such as strategy, creative, and paid, to establish cohesive and successful campaigns
  • Effectively allocate and manage client influencer budgets to ensure positive impact vs agreed KPIs
  • Manage day-to-day workload and development of junior team members, as well as identifying growth opportunities
  • Work closely with our clients to deliver best-in-class influencer work as well as identifying and converting additional revenue-driving opportunities

Some specific skills you’ll need. 

  • The job requires prior experience as an Influencer Director or in a similar position
  • Possessing a thorough knowledge of social media platforms and their optimal techniques
  • Understanding influencer strategies and techniques
  • Possessing strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • The candidate possesses skills in data analysis and providing insights to inform campaign optimization

Senior Vice President, Influencer

Senior Vice President, Influencer Strategy 

Responsibilities: 

  • Earns the trust of senior level and C-suite clients with strategic counsel on approaches to influencer marketing – across the spectrum of identification, compensation, analytics, and risk management. 
  • Play a lead role in the agency’s Influencer center of excellence in our West Region, covering LA and San Francisco, which develops and manages key relationships with content creators, and institutionalizes a set of best-in-class tools and processes for identification, contract negotiation, content planning, measurement, and ROI analysis 
  • In partnership with other senior Influence team members, drive and contribute to the evolution of the Agency’s POV for Influencer marketing. 
  • Have a business growth mindset and desire to build teams, grow accounts and bring in new prospects.  
  • Participate and be positioned as the influencer strategy lead on new business RFPs and help field and support inbound requests across the network (3-4X per week).  
  • Experience working within Travel, Tech and Entertainment is a plus as much of our growth in the region is centered around these types of clients.  
  • Design and establish strong influencer marketing teams on major client engagements. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses and target audiences, and working in close collaboration with our Creative, Insights and Client Experience teams, lead the creation and execution of integrated multi-platform campaigns that drive meaningful results.

  • Lead a high-performing team; mentor and develop junior team members. 

Qualifications: 

  • 9+ years of experience, preferably within an agency environment 
  • Strong understanding of the overall influencer marketing landscape 
  • Deep expertise in managing influencer programs and leading strong influencer marketing teams. 
  • Strong knowledge of social platforms, including paid amplification and campaign optimization. 
  • Familiarity with a broad set of social, media and influencer analytics tools. 
  • Detail-oriented, multi-tasker with excellent time-management skills. 
  • Strong written, verbal communication, negotiation and presentation skills. 
  • Experience leading a team is an asset.
