What will you be doing?

  • Builds client relationships by providing counsel to multiple clients, driving execution of tactical plans to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Successfully manages client expectations, team resources, and deliverables around major campaigns and projects.
  • Serves as an active participant in client meetings and presentations; crafts, presents, and executes integrated communications strategies for major campaigns.
  • Conducts and manages the flow of research and materials development necessary to analyse client issues.
  • Functions across disciplines with a knowledge of social media strategies and tactics.
  • Monitors media outlets for coverage of client and competitor news, leveraging digital and social outlets, a diverse set of influencers, etc.
  • Understands industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client.
  • Composes media materials (press releases, pitch notes, client briefings, messaging documents, sample Q&A, proposals, bylined articles, supporting social content, etc.) and conducts media outreach.
  • Proofs and edits client-related documents.
  • Develops and builds relationships with media
  • Brainstorms and brings to life compelling ideas for clients and media.
  • Leads small teams to conduct pressing research on a wide range of issues, reviews and prepares executive summaries and/or analyses of information into strategic and actionable recommendations.

A snapshot of the role:

Weber Shandwick is looking for a talented Senior Associate (Senior Account Executive-equivalent) who wants to be part of the Corporate Enterprise practice in our London office. The practice is made up of a smart, dedicated and fun team with expertise spanning Corporate Reputation, Public Affairs, Crisis &Issues, Sustainability, Social Impact and B2B.

The ideal candidate will be curious, ambitious, proactive and friendly. The role offers a portfolio of well-known global brands, as well as work on integrated campaigns involving earned media, strategy, creative, analytics and digital specialists. You’ll be instrumental in managing the day-to-day running of accounts, pitching to the media and securing coverage, and overseeing research and campaign reporting.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support delivery of an exceptional client experience by leading in the development of status reports, materials trackers, media trackers, conference/event trackers and managing logistics for client/team meetings
  • Supporting the development of media/campaign strategies and providing knowledgeable recommendations
  • Media pitching
  • Collaborate with specialist practitioners within the practice and throughout the wider London office to support the delivery of integrated communications campaigns
  • Oversee media research and the development of targeted media lists (top-tier, trade, specialist areas)
  • Oversee research and development of media audits
  • Oversee accurate and timely media monitoring and campaign results reports
  • Develop media materials (press releases, pitch emails, reporter backgrounders, social media posts) with minimal oversight
  • Stay on top of industry news, trends and influencers in specific industries and be able to link these to your client’s objectives
  • Attend and lead sections of client meetings and/or teleconferences, overseeing the accurate capturing of meeting notes/actions
  • Project management, leading event logistics and liaising with suppliers (e.g. production companies)

 

Ideal experience required:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in Corporate/B2B PR or marketing, ideally three
  • An interest in the complex world of Corporate and B2B comms – in fact, an interest in the world full stop. The Corporate Enterprise team is an incredibly curious one, with interests spanning tech, sustainability, education, politics and more. We use this to bring a fresh perspective, helping tell client stories through the lens of so many other industries
  • An understanding and proficiency in both media relations and the delivery of an exceptional client experience
  • A strong roster of journalist contacts within corporate, B2B  and vertical sector beats at titles covering international, national and trade/vertical sector publications
  • Experience using standard PR tools (e.g. ResponseSource, Cision, Gorkana)
  • Be an excellent communicator and possess exceptional writing skills, particularly the ability to digest complex information and turn it into compelling, understandable written copy
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for the client, practice and team
  • Experience leading campaigns and being a day-to-day first point of contact for clients, with a track record of providing sound recommendations
  • A proven ability to manage projects to deadline
  • Experience mentoring and managing team members effectively
  • Attentive to detail and quality
  • Fluency in Microsoft programs and digital/social media platforms, tools and solutions

Weber Shandwick is looking for a talented Account Director to join the Corporate Enterprise team based in the London office.

The practice is made up of smart, dedicated, and fun team members with expertise spanning B2B, Corporate, Public Affairs, Crisis/Issues, Social Impact/ESG and Technology.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced practitioner who is curious, ambitious, proactive and friendly. You will enjoy working on a portfolio of well-known global brands, executing integrated campaigns involving earned media, strategy, creative, analytics and digital. You’ll lead the day-to-day running of accounts, provide counsel, manage budgets, and lead and inspire your team to deliver flawless execution of activities.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Provide high-level strategic counsel to clients, being able to proactively identify and assess problems, define logical and effective strategies, and implement solutions on their behalf
  • Be a highly trusted senior point of contact for clients, responsible for leading a team to deliver an exceptional client experience
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams in the development of both over-arching strategy and creative campaign ideas
  • Act as a facilitator, bringing in specialist practitioners within the practice and throughout the wider London office to support in the delivery of integrated communications campaigns
  • Lead market co-ordination for UK, international and global campaigns
  • Oversee the flawless execution of media/campaign strategies of multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Demonstrate proficiency in understanding communications and business goals, and the ability to link team efforts to these in order to demonstrate value and impact for clients
  • Stay on top of industry news, trends and influencers in specific industries and be able to link these to your clients’ objectives
  • Work effectively with finance colleagues to support the client lead in client budgeting and resource management, including forecasting, hours allocation for team members, project and plan budgeting, managing servicing levels
  • Lead in the development and presentation of new business pitches

Who are you?

  • Significant previous experience in comms or marketing is essential
  • Strong experience working on corporate topics and campaigns for clients, with experience of sectors including tech, FMCG, energy, financial services and sustainability
  • A strategic and growth mindset for our clients’ businesses and a nose for hunting opportunities
  • Interested in the complex sustainability landscape, regularly reading media coverage on emerging topics and conversations
  • Proficiency in both media relations and the delivery of an exceptional client experience
  • A comprehensive roster of journalist contacts within corporate, business and/or sustainability at titles covering international, national and trade/vertical sector publications A proven ability to manage large and multi-market teams to deliver work of the highest quality

We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Digital Health Account Director. This is an important role, driving digital and social media activity in our health practice. This person would lead some of our bigger digital pieces of work and would play an important leadership role with the management team within the health practice. You will need to excel at client management and have experience running teams and big pieces of digital health work, ideally in the pharmaceutical space.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Driving growth of digital work by consulting with internal teams on a wide range of accounts to identify digital and social opportunities
