  • In-person trainings and coaching: you’ll be invited to workshops and ongoing trainings in-person to introduce you to the latest and greatest in the industry
  • A possible career: Internships have the possibility of growing into a full-time position

Futures Fellow, Creative Tech (Summer 2024)

Are you the type to lose track of time in Discord chats, showcase your digital artistry on DeviantArt, or skillfully navigate complex systems with Control Nets? If so, consider joining our team as a Creative Tech Fellow!

Creative Tech is at the center of what we do at Futures. The AI Accelerator for The Weber Shandwick Collective, our work spans orientation and training, pilot development, culture change and consulting for some of the world’s best brands and organizations.

Fellows are a critical part of our collaborative team. We’re looking for two motivated collaborators to help research, test, and learn about emerging technologies and platforms with us. Think generative media of all kinds, new community platforms, wearables, volumetric tech and more. Central to the role is researching and concisely reporting back observations and insights (desk research, demos/sandboxes, etc.), as well as conceiving of and packaging potential applications/ideas and use-cases.

We’re seeking Fellows who bring curiosity and a discovery mindset to every assignment, who are sharp, motivated, and excited about the possibilities for our work. This role is a combo of researching, ideation, and making. (Bonus points if you’re familiar with coding, programming or design.)

So, whether you’re an, artist, developer, engineer, inventor, designer, maker, or all-around creator, we want to hear from you.

Application Deadline: Please submit applications by Friday, March 22, 2024.

What would you be working on?

Fellows will research new tech/platforms with implications for marketing and communications to synthesize findings for group discussions, team and client projects, in close collaboration with Futures team members and leadership. You will contribute to agency POVs and assignments, working alongside Futures colleagues as well as cross-agency teams. You will be responsible for individual, cohort and team projects.

What’s in it for you?

Beyond the opportunity to flex your tech, creative (and strategic) muscle, you’ll strengthen your resume and network. (The network thing? Huge.) And did we mention it’s paid?

What are the logistics of this Fellowship?

The Fellowship runs from 6/3 and through 8/16 and is a 40 hour per week commitment. This is a remote opportunity. Our team operates in Eastern Standard Time.

What do we look for?

We orient ourselves around diverse perspectives because we care about what you bring to the table. In your responses, tell us what you think, not what you think we want to hear.

How to apply:

Please submit your resume and cover letter. You may also include up to three portfolio pieces and any additional documentation you find relevant, although this is optional. Additionally, you’ll be required to answer a few application questions. Please limit your responses to 300 words max for each question. If you have a website showcasing your work, feel free to share it.

NYC Salary range: $20.00 – $20.00

Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
